Do you have, or would you be able to take, measurements of the box that it retracts into?

I was considering a hard cover to replace my canvas, but I need basically all of my bed length at times for work tools in different sized pelican cases. I'd have to make sure I could Tetris everything in before committing to this style of a cover.
There is roughly 12" of clearance below the canister. I got a box I thought would fit that said it's 12", but ended up being 13" with the lid and it's too tall. It fits by a whisker with the lid off. The canister itself sits about 12" out from the end of the bed.

Thank you!! I didn't see it in the product pictures and when I scrolled through the listing I obviously missed that part!

I'll be doing some measuring and testing toolbox configurations tomorrow now.
Wasn't actually in the pictures. It was in the body of the ad or description.
You're going to lose a little bit of the width of the bed at the top where the rails are.

I've previously saw this cover on Amazon, looks nice for its price range. The only issue I can see which isn't a issue with the cover.

But, it looks like the cover is installed a bit tight to the rear window. It looks like the cover could slide towards the tailgate angle 1 & 1/2" to 2 ". Other than that it looks like a nice sliding/rollup cover.

Yeah, it can slide a little bit further back of the truck if you don't have the drop in bed liner, but only about 1/4". What stops it is the latching mechanism underneath won't close if you slide it back to where it should sit. I had originally set it up to match the contours of the bed, but then the cover would stop about an inch shy of latching. If the latching mechanism underneath was set an inch back, it would be perfect.

So if you don't mind it not quite sitting right esthetically, it's a great retractable cover for the price. It's pouring rain right now and my bed is bone dry.

I just joined this morning. I wanted to thank VrtualOtis for this posting. I installed this same cover yesterday on my 2024 Maverick. The article and photos were very helpful in both the installation and deciding to purchase it

@VrtualOtis got mine installed today. Man was that a chore. Had to wait a few days for the rain to stop. Loving it so far. I did trim the forward rubber seal. It was definitely too wide.

Nice! Looks great!

I actually plan to remove mine for a bit to move my Suzuki V-Strom, it's just a couple inches too long with the tonneau. I'm going to take that time to trim that strip when I put it back on.

Not to highjack the thread, but I have to ask a dumb question. How did you get the trim pieces off of the rear facing side of the rail? I feel like I am going to break something if I pry any harder. Trying to figure out if the 3 screws near the drain hoses do anything.

Works great, the installation instructions were apparently written originally in Chinese and poorly translated into English by someone that was not a native English speaker. I did however manage to muddle through and have a modicum of success. Very happy with it.

Did you install the cover lock, or just use the tailgate lock?

Mike, what brand of retractable hard cover is that? How has it been holding up since installation?

I just use the tailgate lock. Instructions said if you have electric lock don't use the cover lock.

Thanks for the write up. On my to buy list when my soft roll up blows away. Why wouldn't you route the drain tubes to the rear, near the tailgate and let the water simply run out the back? Am I missing something here?

I have the tonneau more to keep stuff relatively dry, so letting it drain into the bed defeats that purpose. Especially since the water tends to be pretty rusty as it drains, I would rather have that flow out the drain hole instead of into the bed. I also use a bed rug, and while it is marine grade, I prefer not to have rusty water saturating it
