If you are going to spend 50, there are much better choices than a ranger. I’d buy ridge line at that price point, but I also wouldn’t spend 35 on a maverick either.

Imagine waking up, brushing your teeth, and looking in the mirror and thinking, "I'm going to buy a last generation Ford Ranger for close to $50K today". Damn masochists!

So hear me out...

I ordered my Hybrid Lariat Lux with SIBL, paint protection, and hard folding August 27/28 (one of those). I know it's going to be A WHILE before getting any build date, if it doesn't get rolled into a '23.

And I can't sleep...

So I played around and priced out my ideal ranger. $49k. My Maverick was $35kish. I played around some more and hit that "find inventory" button. And low and behold... the dealership that I have my Maverick order through has my ideal Ranger build already on order and in production.

And...

I just got a decent raise that makes the jump more than feasible. I had planned to upgrade in 3 years or so anyways. Now I'm tossing around the idea and will probably decide before they open their doors, but definitely want some input.

So...thoughts?
easily answered with 1 simple yes or no question: Do you want a COMPACT truck, or just any truck that is not full sized?

My dealer has some awesome unsold stock. One is a 1937 Phuteney-Kreach Land Yacht. Only $117,000 and it gets eight looooong city blocks to the gallon of kerosense. If my mav doesn't come in soon I might go for it.

and you have a little dilema- and the question remains what size of truck do you want? Fork in the road time, choose which way you want to go and make it happen. Choices in compact and mid-size segments await you.

Ranger won't fit in my garage without a lot of work. I looked into them as well. Not concerned over new modlel.

Love my Ranger. But, I’ve had her for a couple of years and I would not buy one today with a new model coming soon and the ridiculous prices they are today. Got mine with a discount and 0% interest. Gas mileage stinks but with a tune I get 320hp from that little 4 banger turbo.

Just personally, if the maverick worked for you now, getting a raise shouldn't affect your decision.

Unless you're admitting the maverick wasn't what you wanted and you settled.

If I got a raise I wouldn't win out and bite a less fuel efficient vehicle for $14k more if the current option works for you.

Now if part of the decision is your NEED for a vehicle today is a major concern, get the vehicle you need today if the cost is worth it to have a vehicle now than waiting.

I bought a beater for a few months because I needed wheels until my maverick came in. Then sold it when I got my maverick.

i looked at the ranger. to me this would be a jack of all trads set of wheels. 2 small kids so back seat needs to be usable. one thing i keep hearing is that ranger back seat are not comfortable. if the back sucks compared to even a mavrick then i cant get it.

Hey I paid 46k for a completely loaded 21 Ranger FX4 lariat, everything except moon roof.
No regrets whatsoever!!!

We also have a hybrid lariat Maverick on order.
Probably the last vehicles my wife and I will buy.
Get what you want but the Ranger is really a fun truck!!
