2024 Hybrid Lariat. I got a used set of Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 on FB marketplace for a great price. Only 2000 miles on them. Size 235/60R18. Big difference in snow, and quiet on highway. I'm very happy with them so far.

My FWD ā€˜22 Mav Lariat has 32k miles on it. Maybe half the tread left on the original Michelins. The Bride thinks I’m a nut because I enjoy checking out tires at BJ’s, Walmart, etc. She hates the scent. I kinda like it.
At 77, don’t know if I’ll outlive these tires. But, should I be so fortunate, and unless
some other info comes to the fore,
my next set will be 235/65-18 Michelin Cross-Climates. Will fill the wheel well a bit more, giving a slightly softer ride, with a slightly wider tread. Shouldn’t screw up mileage too much. A few bucks more. But, barring a mishap, probably my last set of tires.

I want an all season,
I want light as possible,
Open tread blocks if possible,
Super quiet is a priority,
Best hydroplaning resistance,

Cost means nothing to me, within reason, I’d like to stay under a grand.

Penny for your thoughts guys ?
Before the penny vanishes, I’ll feel silly saying, ā€˜Nickel for your thoughts.

Whatcha running that your dead sure you’ll replace with the same tire ?

I don’t need the big tire look but I want to go to 235 wides from my 225/60R 18’s
Just for a bit more rubber on the road.
I have been happy with the factory continentals on our 23. Quiet, great in snow, decent tread left at 43,000 miles. I will research prices this spring.

I'm curious how much Goodyear improved version 2. The first version of the WeatherReady's were the last tire I had on my Prius, and while they were definitely a huge improvement over AS tires in the winter, the steering feel was numb, and they had a pretty significant MPG hit.

I just got the 225/65R-17 Vredestein Pinza AT SL put on last Monday. Ordered off Tire Rack and had them delivered. Was $183.77 a tire and total cost was $735.08 before install. Took to local shop and they charged $35 a tire to install.
TireRack.com VRedestein Pinza AT

A few days later had some heavy rain. I did Not have to change TC setting to keep from hydroplaning. These tires just tore through the rain and puddles like they were nothing. Michelin quality tire, without the Michelin tire price. Tires come with a 70k mile warranty and are rated for Severe Snow Service. With Free Road Hazard Protection

Michelin defender 2. Very quiet. Great tire. Ticks all the boxes

given the OPs location I'm thinking snow isn't much of a concern. I'll probably go CC2 but for him defender 2 might be a better overall choice.

Bought a set of Defender 2 for my XLT AWD last summer. Loved them so much I bought another set for my wife's Volvo XC40 this spring.

Mileage didn't take a hit, but it's winter so mileage is down anyway. These handle great, better than the Michelin's that came on the truck. I had 18000 miles on those & I put them on my Subaru Outback.

Although only have 8,770 miles on OEM Continental tires, they looking swell, guess they could go longer.

But i hate buying tires.

Does anyone here with the Michelin Defender 2's live in a place where they get snow? I'm in SE Michigan and we get our fair share of snow but looking to replace the Michelin Primacy A/S on our Ford Escape which have been fine for us in snow, etc so I would hope the Defender 2's would be at least as good in snow?

I used to tell my late wife that if women wanted a perfume that attracted MEN they should buy 1 that smells like a tire store or burning rubber. :ROFLMAO:

I must admit that I am quite impressed by my Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I had never had Falken tires before, but compared to the more expensive Geolandar, they offer just as good (or even better) grip while being less noisy. I don't know if its successor (AT4W) is as good, but I will take them into consideration when it comes time to replace the stock tires on my Tremor.

Michelins are a top choice and in this case, splits the difference between the BFG and Firestones in price, weight and style...BFG weighs 35 lbs and is an XL tire, Firestone weighs 25 lbs and is an SL tire, Michelin weighs 29 lbs and is an XL tire....

BTW, you see I particularly like shopping for tires....

Michelin is what came on my Lariat. Had them on the last four vehicles I have owned. No reason to change. Never had a problem. If I was off roading I might check out another brand but I’m not. I don’t consider the Mac a real rough country ride.
