Interesting string! I was in the car business and stressed to the predelivery techs that you need to deflate tires to recommended pressure. That made demo drives and customer complaints about harsh ride a lot less frequent.

44 psi is the maximum pressure for those tires. You would probably need to inflate the tires to that psi if you planned to load the truck to it's maximum GVW. Which I doubt any of us is doing, or will do. The sticker psi is a compromise between load capacity, good ride, tire wear, and gas mileage. I'd recommend running something a bit above the sticker 34 psi, but 44 psi is too high IMHO. (I am runnimg 38 psi and it seems to work pretty well.)
38 psi is what I use as well.

Mystery of why my tires were at 44 PSI at delivery solved! 👍

Also dealerships' reputation for NFG maintained... 😒

Over inflation will cause rougher ride , and accelerated center tread wear . If I were carrying a heavy load , I would increase rear tire pressure to maybe 40 pounds , then reduce back to 35 afterwards. Vehicle manufacturers do their homework to come up with the best pressure recommendation. 43 years working at a Ford dealership, and this was always a big topic of discussion.

Many dealerships DO let some air out.
I asked my salesman to tell the shop guys to put 2 lbs more in the right front than in the other 3. At delivery it was 33 lbs in 3 and 35 lbs in the right front.
If you right a "trike" (3 wheeled motorcycle), an extra 2 lbs in the right rear counteracts the crown on most roads. I have a Polaris Slingshot. The right front always gets 2 lbs more than the left front.
I think it makes a difference. Will you? YMMV

I prefer to look at the side of the tire. Never know if that sticker is correct, whereas you know the tire will have the correct pressure.
NO it will not. That is MAX pressure. NOT rolling down the road pressure. However, you do your own thing. We can still wave when we meet.

Ok, but do we know why the factory is putting in the maximum pressure, and why the dealership doesn't let some of the pressure out before we pick up our trucks?
Prob dealer believes you gonna haul a 2,000# load off his lot. Or stop at a garden center fill up the back with dirt, rocks, stones, bricks, etc. My wife likes to do dirt….get my drift.

Something funny. The door sticker on my XLT Hybrid says tire pressure should be 34 psi. My tires say 44 psi. My pressure indicator on the info system confirms they are 44 psi. Obviously, 44 is correct, but why did I get a sticker with a normal car tire pressure listed? Annoying.
34 psi is what Ford recommends. 44 psi is maximum pressure for the tires. If you want better gas mileage but worse ride you could stay at 44 psi.

I noticed that on the FordPass on my phone has 35 psi as the recommended cold tire pressure. I believe that is Ford's recommended for best mpg.

Guess I'm an outlier and set mine to 32. Not far from recommended and it leaves a good contact patch on frosted concrete. Probably close to factory when the weather turns.

My tire pressure gauges and I have several don't always agree with each other nor with the tire monitoring display. So according to the above I shouldn't pay attention to the display and only go my tire gauges when filling with air?

That' tricky. Tire gauges can be way off. I've had new ones off by 10lbs when measuring 35ibs. I had few gauges that agreed. My pencil gauges seemed to be most consistent.
I found a gauge that was really accurate and continues to be several years on. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head. I'll post it later after I look at it.

Use the vin sticker pressure see pic as long as your tires are stock and came with the truck
