Tiny Factory oil filter

2023 XLT Hybrid 2.5. Changed oil today at 2000 miles Glad i did. Mine had this really tiny oil filter on it. I am like WTF is this when I get it off. Man it was on tight too. Do others have this tiny filter too or is this something new to save money. Its about 2.5 inchs long.

Yes and it was tight AF and didn't fit my filter socket wrench. Was real fun to get off with a strap wrench 1/100th of a turn at a time. Replaced it with the recommended STP extended life filter which is bigger and fits my wrench.

Okay so they all come with this tiny oil filter. Seems to me people going 7500 miles for first oil change is a big mistake.

Filter is about 1/2 the size you'll find on a 5 to 7 liter V8. The 2.5 L is about 1/2 the size of those engines, yet holds almost as much oil. I don't really see a problem.

The NORMAL filter NO issue . BUT this tiny half size one I don't know.

FL910-S is the standard sized filter recommended in the service manual, which is indeed larger than the oil filter our vehicles shipped with

I got the filter off with my hands. No wrench. And I'm not some muscle man. So it seems to vary.
