When it comes down to it size does matter. Especially when you are talking engine protection.
What's more important is bypass rating. I don't know about the larger motorcraft filter but it can be an issue with non OEM filters that don't have a proper bypass pressure rating, too low and you're just constantly bypassing the filter material negating having a filter in the first place.

FL910S or the FL2123 can be used in place of an FL910S per Ford. The 2123 is an encore design filter made by Champ and is basically a Delco filter painted white with a Motorcraft sticker. We use both interchangeably at my dealer depending on availability.

I took my first little Ford filter off with a big pair of channel locks no problem. . With a small cheap filter like that Ford saves a third of a quart of oil each time add up all the vehicles they Ford build thats alot of oil and money . Got to save money so they can pay those huge salerys of the UAW workers . 🤔

Not endorsing the mini filter but 7,500 on a hybrid is somewhat shy of 7,500 miles of engine run time on a 2.0 Ecoboost. I believe the hybrid holds a little bit more oil than the 2.0 Ecoboost.
I have used the FL-910 on our C-Max hybrid for over 100,000 miles, same filter as the 2.0 Ecoboost.

Searched "FL910S" (motorcraft) found a 12pk on Amazon for ~$70 back in July.
I'm seeing ~$85 for 12pk today.

I have no favorite oil per se but have decided to use Mobil 0-20 full synth "for "hybrid" because it met specs in manual and easily available at local wally world.

I have done most of my oil changes on all vehicles i use to be a Amsoil dealer in the late 70's good stuff. I have used most of the name brand stuff Mobil 1 ran Castrol in my 03 Indian Chief but now run Valvoline syn in my old Toyo been happy with that i understand NAPA oil is made by Valvoline but that may have changed or not.

I'm seeing $5.46 on RockAuto.com for the filters. For oil I get the Mobile 1 Extended Performance full synthetic.

20 years ago, when I worked at an auto repair shop, Valvoline made NAPA oil. I too do not know if that has changed.
