I might get grilled for it, but i found the whole water bottle thing to be super dumb. Made me shudder when it would get brought up in every single video ever. Like who cares? Am i supposed to clap like a seal for Ford for solving a near non-existent problem? I cant even put a regular 500ml bottle in there, and many others dont fit in the front but will fit in the back. lol

I ordered the Maverick water bottle from Ford thinking it was the largest water bottle I could find that would fit in the door, and unfortunately no dice. It does fit in the center cup holder but not the cool side door slot.

Will the bottle go into the slot vertically? I had the same problem with a 1l bottle from the gas station, then went in from the top. NP.
Okay now I feel really foolish, I didn't check vertical or the back seat slot. It does fit in both of those, but I don't see how it doesn't leak because it comes with a note inside stating that "Lid is not Leak Proof". Also not easy to grab while driving.

COME ON FORD YOU MADE ALL THIS SPECIAL DESIGN CHANGES IN THE TRUCK FOR FOR A WATER BOTTLE BUT CAN'T MAKE A WATER BOTTLE THAT WORKS!!

Those are 34 oz. The side door is for 20 Oz bottles

For starters - I actually love the cantilever handles. I'm not sure where the cost benefit is to making it two piece instead of one but I enjoy it.

That said - Ford has made way too big of a deal out of the door utility because it flat out sucks. As many have pointed out the door pockets are extremely shallow.

To boot - my 24oz ozark trail insulated water bottle (when you've lost as many as me you learn to go cheap) fits exactly like the Mavericks does and is too tall. I'm going to have to go back to a 20oz HydroFlask to get the job done.

Far from a deal breaker. Not really even as much as an annoyance. I just don't understand why the doors are what Ford marketing decided to hang their hat on.

They looked awkward in photos. I didn't think I would like the door pulls. But it's way more ergonomic than it looks. I like them a lot after using them for nearly a month. Especially reaching for the door when its stretched way out. I find myself grabbing for the end and pulling instead of reaching my fingers over the top like a conventional pull.
