Let's see, most useful, best fuel economy of any vehicle I've ever owned (been driving since 1991). I'll take mundane any day!

Honestly, a huge chunk of the American public would be able to do everything they need to do with a Maverick.

Talking to a guy driving a butt-dragger. I told him his truck looks stupid and everyone thinks so.

Him: "I don't really care what people think!"

My: "Yes you do. That truck screams 'LOOK AT ME!!!' If you really didn't care what people think, you'd get one of those." *pointing to my truck* "An non-compensating truck that likely does as much 'work' as you have ever done."

He left in a huff...
I was just having a similar discussion with my brother as we were unloading a sizeable pile of sod from the box of my Maverick. I told him that I consider myself to use my truck for "truck duties" more than most other non-commercial truck owners. Yet, these folks all have trucks much larger and much more expensive than mine.

I told him I tow, haul, transport, drive across my farm....all things 90% of truck owners likely don't do and the Maverick does all these thing really well.

It is easy to drive, park, and own. And it gets pretty darn good MPG for a gas truck. 👍

It’s actually a decent little truck in all areas minus interior quality but not mundane

A while back I used to love Jalopnik but it changed to a clickbait site. It lost a lot of good writers too. I don''t read it now.

I am lucking enough to have a new vehicle every year since 1975. Have had both cars and trucks, but all Ford Lease. In 2023 I Purchased a Gas Alto Blue XLT with optional wheels and tires, 4K and trailer tow.

I have NEVER had a vehicle that I have gotten more public comments on, except my 32 three window or 70 Mustang.

I love my truck and take better care of it than all of those other driver vehicles! It is not Mundane!

I confess to being a regular Jalopnik reader. I ordered a Mav (AWD Hybrid) because (a) it gets better mileage than the VW Sportwagen I'll be selling once the truck arrives, (2) it has 4 seats at least as comfortable as the VW, (c) it has a truck bed, which I will occasionally put to good use and (4) there was nothing else that could claim those same features at anywhere near the price I am paying for the Mav. Is it everything I wanted? Nope, that vehicle doesn't exist. Is it boring? I hope so, in the sense that it just works and doesn't add any drama to my life. Honestly, I hope the rest of the world just ignores me and my Mav. Do I care what Jalopnik (or Jalopnik readers) think of it? Nope. But I still find Jalopnik entertaining at times, despite their uneven quality. I even enjoy the reader comments most of the time, often more than the articles. Most of their readers who comment are, at least to me, as level-headed and entertaining as you folks here. Like the Mav, good at what they do, occasionally annoying, and more often informative and entertaining.

I'm happy to have mundane. I have drama elsewhere and if I want to cheat death I'll use the Miata or the motorcycle.
I'm with you on that with a slight variation: Bugeye, R 1200RT, KLX 300.
