It's hard to believe that we're still looking for reasons to be scared of owning a hybrid vehicle. Yes, the battery is a battery. Yes, it's warranted to last a really long time. No, it won't die or deteriorate at 100k miles. Yes, it can be replaced if something weird happens, just like a transmission, an engine, or a gas tank can. No, it won't cost $3,000 to replace it. Yes, you can find videos showing you how to replace one yourself. No, it won't go dead if you mostly drive at high speed. No, you can't damage it by running through water. No, you don't have to baby it. No, you don't have to contend with it dying in cold weather or hot weather or wet weather. No, it won't blow up. No, you don't have to plug it in. Yes, you can use regular gas in it. No, you can't decide whether or not to run on just the battery or just the gasoline engine...
Your one stop everything Hybrid!
I think you got everything.

Settled...Mine will be a hybrid...though I wonder if fire is more likely in a crash??
How much do you worry about a 12V battery in a non-Hybrid vehicle?
Been driving a Hybrid now for 3 years and that thought has never entered my mind. The battery in both vehicles was under the back seat.

Same thing for heat, if it can't pump enough heat to you it will just turn the ICE back on
Heat means ICE is required I think, there is no electric heating element afaik.

For example, if you only need a little bit of heat on a Fall day when you start the truck, the ICE still has to start up and get warm to provide you *any* heat?

This is mostly true in a traditional hybrid system, although when heat is on you can actually turn the internal combustion engine off for a long time because of the heat of the fluids retained in the engine. It just turns back on the internal combustion when the temperature drops below what is required to heat the car

I thought this was a pretty nice video. Enjoy.

Isn't this this same guy that put out a video 2 or 3 weeks ago saying we are all duped and the Maverick is junk?

No. Not that I've seen, and I subscribe to his channel.

No, that was another Youtuber, who I won't link to b/c folks think he was just click-bait, who wasn't seriously critiquing the Maverick.

Okay, thanks everyone for the clarifications. Sorry for the derail.
