Sadly a TSB isn't like a recall.
It's a bulletin that comes out for the service department. Showing them that there may be problems in this area. Ford may or may not cover the expense.

Right after the technical service bulletin came out. I went to the local Ford dealer to see how much OEM parts would be.
This is what the parts department printed out. $608.00 😱
I think I would try to find anything after market.
Good Luck.

How in the world can those little posts cost $65 a piece?? Also why did they put 8 of them on there when there's only 2 per tail light? Unreal the way the dealerships operate somedays.

I'm curious to have the dealership give me a quote on it and see what they say.

I see the same part numbers other than the A and B at the end and the difference in price.
Do you have a link for the ones that you found on Amazon?

I found the grommet portions so far. Haven't found the pegs. Still looking.

White Grommet
Black Grommet

I'll let you know if I find the pegs.

Below is the reviews on the white pegs.

2 good, 1 terrible lol.

I may roll the dice.

I also found this on Ford OEM parts:

Ford Maverick Tail Light Issue 1746714880556-xj

Comes out to $62.22 per tail light. So over $120 for the set. So still a bit steep. I think I'm going to get a quote from the Dealer/see if its covered in my extended warranty. If not. I'll probably just 3M tape it and call it a day.

$120 still expensive but $488 less than the quote i got from the parts department.
In all fairness, the parts guy did say, wait a little bit and the price will probably come down.

I just called the dealership I got the truck at and they sounded as if they had no clue what I was talking about.

Transfered me to the body/collision shop as it "sounded like a body issue", they told me to stop by and they'll take a look at it.

So, that's where I'm at.

Has anyone tried wrapping a couple layers of electrical tape around the posts, get a little snugger fit in The grommets? Maybe some heat shrink tubing?

That thought had crossed my mind as well. I may give this a try later this afternoon when I'm home from work.

I like the heat shrink tubing idea, it sure sounds feasible anyway.

It is definitely still an issue on the 2025's (and happened to my 2022 and my 2023 as well). Mine had done it when I was replacing the lights. But I was able to fix it with the "only tighten the screws as much as needed" method.

So it sounds like they haven't fixed the issue...
It must not be quite that simple. The studs on the taillights on my '24 (built 8/24) require a lot of force to pop loose, to the point where you feel like you will surely break something. It seems like there might be some molding/casting inconsistency or sourcing inconsistency of the parts. I have a 2012 Focus that has the same setup, and one taillight stud has always been loose in relation to the other.
