But hilly rural backroads can result in some pretty decent MPGs too.

One pic is there. The other is back. Mostly to prove it wasn't all downhill one direction.

I know. 👍Here's the mileage I got freeway driving. When I came back from San Diego to Las Vegas on the 28th of June. 😁

Even if it's adjusted down to 38 MPG it's still damn good for 336 miles.

Today: view of sea level to view of sea level. Net elevation change: miniscule

But some big hills in the middle give opportunity to coast that flat driving does not give.

Flat = great steady MPG.
Hills = good plus infinite MPG.

That kind of hybrid mileage,
In a Truck, a nice 4 door truck is simply
OUTSTANDING !
Way to go Ford !

I consider my Ecoboost’s 30 mpg high way mileage to be dam good also.

A lady friend of mine, her husband bought her a Platinum model F-150
Hybrid. $70,000 wowza !
Top if the line.

In mixed driving around here she averages 25 mpg.
I think that is amazing for that beast of a truck.

It’s kinda funny watching her little self mountain climb up into the cab.

Ford gave us two good choices. There are some things that our little pickup trucks can’t do, but efficiency is a Maverick dominator.

We are on our second Mav, a '25 hybrid, after trading in our original '22 hybrid for what we paid for it (resale value is another huge plus along with the gas mileage). Both vehicles have been pretty much identical in mileage, about 55+ mpg around town and 45+ on the highway at 70-75 speeds even on our hilly TN highways. Ford definitely hit it out of the park with the Mav and we are happy we jumped on the first one soon after they announced they would be releasing it. It was worth the weight.

Wow! I've never gotten more than mid-50s on a trip of any distance.
Have your passengers get out and push 😆

The Hybrids like exactly two kinds of driving... extremely conservative or spirited. If you are on a section that won't allow you to keep it in electric to accelerate reasonably, go ahead and give the go pedal some juice so you see the electric motors kick in to help the ICE. If you ever see a full white bar on the power meter in town you're doing it wrong.

Ya - racing from stoplight to stoplight basically - old habits can die hard.

Then again - do drivers that do that even realize how bad their mileage is, or really don't care?
Never mind they are likely not helping their commute time by much if any.
And not helping their vehicle systems much usually.

This was very hard pressed to achieve - constant attention to every opportunity to make it better - not wasting HVB on hills or starts that didn't matter, but still using HVB on hills or starts where I knew it could matter, little to no traffic for long slowdowns or accelerates, even in hybrid.
I can't focus this much during normal driving routes - this was a special opportunity.

And yet a trip in southern IL Ozarks - got close to this without even trying basically, just my normal calm driving.

Show me your ways, usually at 70 - 75 MPH I'm getting mid-30s
I have a lighter foot as far as acceleration even though I like to drive fast when I get up to highway speed. Some of it might be our hills. For every uphill we have some great downhills as well where you can let the truck mostly coast. Even going up a long hill like outside of Cookeville heading east on I-40 my mileage is still not bad. Must just be the overall conditions where every negative has an offsetting positive.

October will be 3 years of owning my 2023 XLT. When the gas went up, I still filled up once every 3 weeks. Just had to pay $30 more at fill up. So far, I am pleased with my Maverick. I don't know about you all, but I really enjoy taking long drives in it. It is comfortable, the windshield provides an awesome view and the Maverick has low wind noise. AND its easy to get in and out of!! No more climbing out of a low sitting bucket seat!!

Must of had a lot of start/stop or slow MPH driving; otherwise your electric miles would not have been so high on the open road for 21 miles. Impressive nonetheless.
