It hasn't gotten any better. Last 1/2 tank of gas I got 22.1 MPG. That was almost all city driving. When looking at the hybrid coach screen, and the ICE is running, I only rarely see a slice of blue on the far left side of the meter bar (Indicating the electric motor trying to assist the ICE I presume?) Usually when the ICE is running there is no blue at all. It shows charge when slowing, and electric only when I take my foot off the gas pedal for a second. Then I have to be careful to not take the power meter above 10% or the ICE starts up. It is hot here and I have to use the A/C, but not on max. I am going to take it to a different dealership and see if I can get some answers. Thanks everybody.

Oh Also, I am using non-ethanol gas. And when driving at 65-75 I get 32-38MPG. In fact I get better mileage at 75 than at 60 by far. (5-10MPG at least)

Definitely go to the dealer. I drive in normal mode and have heavier tires than the stock ones and I still usually get 40-55mpg

Seems weird. But extreme hot can bother the MPG just as extreme cold can. Your highway MPG sounds normal.

Find another owner near you and compare. Drive each other's truck a few miles and compare. I'd do it in a heartbeat for you if you were close to Northern California.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

So I didn't read every page -- but you talked about (back on page one) using electric up to 20mph. That sounds like you were trying to get up to speed with the electric primarily.

I've found the best strategy is actually to use the gas engine up to speed, and then get off the throttle, and then reapply with electric -- using it just to maintain my speed.

But I also just drove 240 miles and averaged 40 mpg on the freeway at 70mph, so there may be something you want the dealer to look at

Hello-

I didn't read this thread, but I did pick up a 23 XL hybrid today, and had a blast dropping the anchor "hitting the low button"...

Was averaging 42 in town staying off the brake pedal in slippery mode, and also hitting neutral as needed-

After 40 miles of cruising 60 mph and about the same in careful stop and go pushbutton city driving I averaged 37 mpg according to the cpu...

I'm thinking it's driver error, There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to drive the Maverick Hybrid and get good MPG.
This is my last fill-up.
