They are nice to have until they leak. Then you are like why tf did i put a hole in the roof. Plus it's added weight to the ceiling.

Update, I owned a 2008 focus SES with the sunroof. Used to crank Baba OReilly going down the highway with all the windows down and the sunroof open. Few years before trading it in, sunroof started to leak. Both mats on the drivers side soaked constantly.

Rarely have a vehicle without a SUNROOF....love my sunroof in the Maverick....so nice in Spring and Fall weather...Have had at lease 10 vehicles with sunroofs and have NEVER had a single one leak...Trends are that people that complain about leaking sunroofs never had one. The Maverick's moonroof comes standard with a dark tint so I normally leave the sunroof cover open since it is tinted...like the extra light with cover open.

In 2022, moon-roof was a single add-on option on any model Maverick for $790....If it's not raining, I usually have the sunroof in the vented position. I find down rear seat side windows have an irritating roaring noise, not so with an open sunroof. Some like them some don't, that why we have a choice.

Makes it a toy car with the sunroof and I can't even wear a ski helmet. I wanna be able to haul an elephant on my roof if I want, in a Nor Easter. Yes, I've replaced glass and motors too. If you want to cramp the cabin and take away headroom, go ahead and girl it up with a sunroof.

All factory sun/moonroofs leak. That's why they have drains. As long as you keep the drains clear, there's never an issue, and keeping the drains clear is easy. Cheap aftermarket sunroofs/moonroofs that don't have drains are the real problem--they have to seal perfectly because there's no way to drain the water that gets past the seals.

I currently own two older Fords with moonroofs. One is 25 years old, the other is 14 years old. If you reach up from inside and feel around the perimeter of them when it's raining hard, you will feel water dripping into the gutters, yet neither of them has ever had water intrusion into the cabin because the gutter drains are clear.

I was wondering how many people optioned for a sunroof when they ordered their Maverick. I might have ordered a First Edition Maverick instead of a loaded Lariat, if I could delete the sunroof. The only way to get a sunroof is to order it as an ad on option. I never used the sunroofs that came on most vehicles I've owned, and would pass paying extra for one.

I would NEVER BUY any vehicle with sunroof or glass roof. I passed off mavericks with sunroof and xlt luxury package that cost me nothing.

Sunroofs leak period.

Don't care about powered seats either.

First Edition? That was only for the first MY - 2022.

Have a 25 AWD hybrid xlt without a sunroof. Also have a 24 escape hybrid AWD with a sunroof. Love it in the wife’s escape except she has allergies. So the roof stays closed.

Like others have said you get a nice air flow with the sunroof on tilt and the rear slider open. I leave it that way most of the time!

Us 80+ guys remember the "torpedo" shaped wind driven fan evaporative AC units that hung on passenger window. Had to add a quart of water every few miles.

I always order sunroof in my vehicles because I live in Arizona and opening the sunroof helps cool the vehicle down significantly quicker than just the windows. Even with auto start and a 10 minute cooldown. It helps in Arizona to blast the hot air out the roof.

Yes, ordered sunroof on my 2022XLT.
Always enjoy the breeze and looking up to God's beautiful sky. Closest thing to T-tops on my 72 Corvette. Wish I had that back.
