Sunroof Option

Here in the once great State of California, our government is singularly focused on all of the fraudulent ways they can siphon money out of our pockets so I don't think we'll see any change that doesn't increase the amount of blood they can suck from our bank accounts.

2022 didn't know I could get a sunroof?

Not only could you get one in 2022, it was an option on the XL as was the manual slider, that is if you could actually get the XL at all.

I purchased my 24 Lariat AWD EB 4K while working out of state in WA. It wasn't a requirement but I've enjoyed it since I've had it, living here in TN.

On November 29, 2024, the salesman asked what I wanted on the Maverick I was searching for. I told him a '24 Lariat, AWD, EB, 4K, with moonroof, deep blue in color like the Tacoma I was willing to trade in (didn't have a moonroof). He found one at his sister dealership in Louisville, 100 miles away. He had it trailered to his dealership and called me at 2:00 the next afternoon and told me it was sitting on the lot, ready for a test drive. I test drove it at 5:00pm after checking the oil and left the lot at 8:00pm November 30. Wham bam, thank you mam.

I wouldn't have bought the truck without any of the options on my list, especially the moonroof. The salesman washed, detailed, and installed the miscellaneous loose parts. I promised to bring it to the service department to complete the new-car service. If the sun is not beating down through the top glass, the shade cover is open. As a 50+ year motorcycle rider, you can bet the glass is open most of the time, smiling as I tool around.

If and when I trade, the new one will have a moonroof even if I have to wait a few days to get it.

Some people's climate might limit use of a sunroof...or if I did not have a garage I too might pass on a sunroof....but my climate allows use of a sunroof 9 to 10 months of the year. Not all but many vehicles give a bonus on trade-in/sale of a vehicle with a sunroof.

Never thought of it that way but probably why I too added a sunroof...my last 3 sunroofs. 233,000 miles on the yellow one...great for long trips.

If you ever find yourself in Calgary Alberta, look up the Powderface Trail just beyond Bragg Creek. That's the decent back down to Sibbald Creek Trail. Connect it to Spray Lakes road from Kananaskis to Canmore, and you have a wonderful 50/50 loop you'll remember forever. ;-)

I traded the Explorer for my Mav partially so I could haul the Bike on some nationwide cross-country trips without having to book a month off and bring 3 sets of tires. lol

A southern US coast-to-coast ride is in my future, with New Orleans, Tail of the dragon, and the Florida Keys on that bucket list.

Do most of my riding in Montana and Canada...No doubt Canada has the most scenic roads. Rode to the Arctic Circle (Alaska) a few yrs ago and British Columbia and Yukon territory on the way are like nothing I've ever seen......amazing country. You should join "Adventure Rider" (AdvRider)...it has pictures of Powderface Trail rides. Went by the KTM factory a few years ago...the best off-road 2 wheels ever made. But Canada is a good ride in a Maverick, did about 2,000 miles last summer. My Hybrid gets better MPG than my motorcycle. No more hijacking from me.

Rarely have a vehicle without a SUNROOF....love my sunroof in the Maverick....so nice in Spring and Fall weather...Have had at lease 10 vehicles with sunroofs and have NEVER had a single one leak...Trends are that people that complain about leaking sunroofs never had one. The Maverick's moonroof comes standard with a dark tint so I normally leave the sunroof cover open since it is tinted...like the extra light with cover open.

In 2022, moon-roof was a single add-on option on any model Maverick for $790....If it's not raining, I usually have the sunroof in the vented position. I find down rear seat side windows have an irritating roaring noise, not so with an open sunroof. Some like them some don't, that why we have a choice.

Me too. The sunroof coupled with the slide rear window is a winning combination.
