Definitely post a follow up so us 25 MAV owners can be ready if this happens to our.
A separate post would be better so we don't have to go fishing though this post to look for answers. 😊 Just a suggestion.
and then leave this post with no resolution... that sounds weird and counterproductive

This can be caused by damage to the B pillar wiring. It happened to me when they did the side airbag recall. Ford Roadside in 2023 didn't know that a Maverick that can't go into neutral requires dolly wheels to get it out of a parking space. Have them send a tow truck used for repossessions.
In my particular case the transmission wasn't in park and couldn't go into park. No idea what it was in other than limbo. lol

The rear/parking brake was on despite the dash errors saying it wasn't on and wasn't working.

The front wheels were free rolling.

The truck was hauled ass-first onto the flatbed via chains attached to the safety chain hookup holes on the hitch receiver - in the rain, the rear tires slid along the wet deck with minimal fuss.

No idea how the dealership will get it inside to figure out the next steps. Like surgery I'm not interested in knowing exactly what they do to fix the things. I'll just have to accept what I'm told afterward. lol

I have a similar problem with my 2025 XLT hybrid.
I start it.
I want to put it in Drive but I cannot rotate the knob.
I have to run back all the way off and then try again.
A few times more than once.

Dealership most likely will put 13v power onto jump pins to get computer working.

Unfortunately, as cars have become computers on wheels, similar issues that apply to desktops/laptops/tablets apply to cars: It can be impossible to isolate and determine root cause of software glitch behavior that is corrected by a reboot.

Once performed, a reboot eliminates any evidence of the original problem, and there is no way to get the system operational without doing the reboot which is via disconnecting the battery in the Maverick.

A cosmic ray changing the state of a bit in a processor may be the cause, but assigning that cause to an issue cannot be proven beyond conjecture. I have seen the "impossible" happen in software. The cosmic ray was what was determined to be the probable cause in a case I was investigating as there was no software issue to correct.
That glitch cost several million dollars in impact. It never happened again.

I have no idea if your issue was a glitch or not, but it may be that the techs will be unable to find out a cause, and that is a potentially likely outcome if the cause vanished, because you can't fix a problem when you can't find a problem to fix.

Unsettling, to be sure, but also unlikely to happen again.

I have a 25 Lariat Hybrid at 1500 miles took a 50 mile trip parked a few hours got back in and every warning light on cluster was on, had no power steering, was able to drive home and park it was Sunday next morning got in was going to dealer only check engine light on, steering back to normal, cool feature on my phone got warning and everything was listed on ford app it listed all the warning lights that were on, Dealer had no loaners of course all on the road, Ford would pay up to 40 bucks a day if it was a ford rental. Only had check engine light on, asked them to reset, wouldn't reset, made appointment with loaner, had my power steering back.
Next morning check engine light off, This happened 3 times, about every 200 miles every time all warning lights on, still waiting for loaner and next morning after sitting all lights out had power steering back, check engine light stayed on and was out next day.
Finaly called me had a loaner at 1900 miles, I could of got a rental didn't want to leave my truck in there scary parking lot, vehicles parked so close to each other, it was jammed with cars had no choice, gave the parking lot guy a 20 and asked him to look out for my truck.
Three days later truck was done, they did some software updates, had them change the oil, I always change my oil at 2k on new vehicle, it was free they always give the first change for free, they drove the vehicle 23 miles, am sure the tech had a good time with my truck and unplugged my Viofo mini cam, I didnt say anything to them.
Let me say this from being on the other side of the counter for 30 years never yell and scream at dealer employees they didn't build the vehicle and in most cases there going to help you, I always bring donuts when going to dealer, you would be surprised how far a donut will go, when I picked up the vehicle it was parked far away from others had no damage, well worth the 20 bucks I gave the lot guy.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the 12v battery is a good idea. Here is a better one for any new car these days.

Since new cars are so tech dependent, and the littlest things can cause electrical gremlins, when ever I have purchased a new vehicle in the past 10yrs, the 1st thing I do is go into the fuse box and make sure all of the fuses are COMPLETELY SEATED! It sounds really dumb but it can solve so many issues. And it is also really quick and easy and doesn't hurt to try.

Especially if you are having electrical gremlins. Check the fuses, check your 12v connections. Charge/top off the battery and reset the BMS.

No word from the dealer today. I called and left a message suggesting that since they have the truck there for some time maybe they could do the undercoat too rather than me trying to schedule some other time.

They didn't call me back, even to say no.

Unfortunately, I believe that the current norm at dealer service departments is that no one wants to answer the phone anymore to talk to customers. Default: voice mail and one hopes for call back or text. Frustrating as hell.

I got a call from the dealer today saying they were looking at the truck and would call me back by the end fo the day with an update.

They didn't say the end of *which* day and to be fair there's still 45 minutes left in this one...
