All brands have issues my dude. I know multiple people who had issues with Hondas in the first day of ownership. Multiple Toyota owners who had issues in the first month. Bad shit happens.
This isn't my first car, it's my 6th. :ROFLMAO: The Maverick has more recalls than all my other vehicles combined, and it's only just over a year old. My previous five had one recall each total, Takata airbags which plagued the industry, another was brake master cyclendar recall (mine was fine, but replaced anyway), another a poorly designed 12v battery holder. My first car, a 87' Honda Accord had total electrical failure, at 22 years old with well over 150k miles. Got my monies worth before there was a real problem. It had a fuel tank gasket recall, no big deal.

I've had no functional problems with the Maverick, like it in fact. I just don't feel like I can trust it to stay reliable long term. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty, when that's up, I think this thing is going the way of the dodo. Let's look at it this way, it's one year old and it has this many issues already? It's more the hassle of having to deal with them.

* Also, sorry to the OP for derailing this thread. I will leave it to that topic from here on out.

Yeah, I figured out how to mitigate the stranding issues with frequent use of the Noco jump starter, but the hassles of doing that constantly on a "new vehicle" became burdensome.

Having issues getting stuff fixed under warranty made me very wary of long-term ownership.

My apologies too, my post also contributed to derailing the thread. The intent was out of empathy and solidarity from likewise sharing similar reliability issues and the resultant frustration.

First year vehicle + new tech = probability of problems . I still took chance with first year vehicle but researched turbo and tranny ( been improved in other ford products) . so far so good except for air bag recall. ( not done yet ) .
My wife already has 20k miles on her 22 XLT AWD. No issues, other than occasional connection with her phone and, of course, the airbag recall (fixed, no problems). I put an order in for our daughter for a Lariat EB AWD (she's one of two people who can pull the plug on me, so I like keeping her happy so she doesn't pull the plug as quickly as my wife might:) also, my wife's engine was from spain, and I read it was better than the one made in Cleveland. Time will tell, I guess.

Maybe one day, it'll come from me, or other members of this forum. But until it does, we just need to enjoy our trucks and have a good time.
While all manufacturers have issues. Don't compare Honda to Ford. I wish my Mav has the reliability of bothe those brands.
For many of us, if the hybrid didn't exist Ford would never have even been considered, let alone the Maverick. So no, would never order an EB. :ROFLMAO: Now move along to the pimp my EB ride threads. :p
So what did you end up doing? Lemon law?

How do you know where the engine was made?

Anecdotally, my Honda hybrid was the neediest car I ever had, and I spent 2 years fighting the dealership I bought it from for repairs before its engine destroyed itself around 60K. They kept saying it was fine, despite burning tons of oil and fouling all its spark plugs. (I fortunately ended up getting towed to a different and much better dealership when the engine went kaput.)

Well, I was part of your "many of us" hybrid gang and endured the unsolvable no-start issues. Old Man's point is valid, I have zero doubt my ownership experience would have been much more positive with the turbo than the hybrid.
Unsolvable by multiple Ford dealerships and the corporate lurker too.
I do notice though on this site, there seem to be more problems in general with the hybrid than the EcoBoost. Not cutting down the hybrid,it's just new technology compared to the older, more proven technology in the ecoboost.

Ford hybrid 2004-2005, ecoboost 2009-2010.

22 ecoboost, 6k miles, zero issues. Lucky or not, my experience is that it was well engineered. Only want is to have made all the silly cubbies useful, but I can live as is.

Agreed. When I was researching the two powerplants, there was a lot of discussion of how Ford had mastered hybrid technology and that the Maverick's hybrid powerplant was a direct descendant of the 20-year old Escape hybrid system and was "refined and bulletproof".

Not sure whether Ford cheaped out with the aluminum wiring and poor 12V batteries or what. That said, there are many happy hybrid owners on the forum that report no issues and a blissful ownership experience. I know I'm wary of going down that path again despite the fuel savings.

Exactly, it's like going to a restaurant you loved for years and getting a bad meal. That one experience can turn you off for ages but if you give it a try again it's usually just an outlier.

It says it on the engine, I think it's on the left side. Google where the 2.0 engines are made.
