Any thoughts on these? I'm looking for something low profile that will accommodate roof rails/rack and provides some level of security and water resistance.

I contacted Alex at RealTruck. He recommended x15. Good deals. More than I want to spend on such a small bed but I'd rather have quality.

Also do either of those allow for/require adjustments at different times of year?

Thanks in advance.

I have the Pro X15 on both my MAVs and have found it to be a quality product. It also has a life time warranty.

I have two Pro x15 - Maverick and F150. However, they both have been weeping and dripping water - everything in my bed is wet after 5 days of rain. The back side of the cover is completely wet and you can watch it drip. Customer service has been helpful but the manufacturer's manual clearly states the the cover is not water proof.

I really like the look but the fabric is not waterproof? Not water proof would have been a no purchase decision.

I sprayed some water proof fabric spay and will see if that helps. I have a tarp taped under the cover unit Truxedo has a solution.

Maybe you could buy something to coat it.

If your Pro X15 is leaking, it's most likely not coming through the fabric. Would look at weather stripping at edges.

Any tonneau will leak with days of heavy rain. They are designed to keep the majority of rain off, but what is inside needs to be weather resistant.

Pro X15 is a great quality product. You may need to make minor adjustments at season changes but they are auto tensioned. Also nice that to completely remove the fabric is a very simple process for full bed access.

If the sentry is the one linked above, I would go with that one. Having a soft roll up cover on mine now I will never buy another one again. No matter what I do to adjust or tighten it at highway speeds it flaps around like a duck in a tornado. I have no experience with either of these options, so I might just be spouting nonsense. However, I would pay the extra for the hard roll up.

Not sure what your current one is, but there is a huge difference in the cheapesr vs. better quality soft roll ups. Sentry is a great cover, but so is the Pro X15. To me the biggest difference is security and ability to put a load on a hard cover.

Thanks. I checked everything and they send me new tension screws. It seams that it is just seeping through the fabric. I guess I'm just spoiled from the Diamond Back cover on the Raptor.

I started wi the X15, but exchanged for BAK X4S. Couldn’t get the tension good enough for me. If you are picked from just the sentry and X15, pick Sentry.

I currently have the OE ford cover. I used my points and it only cost about 200. It doesn't have any major water leaks. I just get irritated looking in my rear view and seeing it flapping around. It is as tight as possible. I could literally bounce quarters off of it. The weather stripping gas no breaks. I just chuck it up to air forces and cross winds. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Thanks for all the input.

Mind you. I don't expect these to be waterproof, but a decent degree of water resistance is kinda the idea. At this point the bed is full of snow so I wanna get something on it quick until I decide what bedliner to go with.

Sounds like there's a lot of x15 owners but haven't heard from anyone with a sentry.

Lifetime warranty is certainly compelling.

One of main reasons I didn’t like the X15.

I have the X15 on my maverick and it’s been great. I had a minor issue installing because the tailgate rubber flap ended up inside the tailgate, rather than on top, but after a few calls with customer support they determined that the installation was right and it was their instructions that were incorrect.

I have not had any issue with water leaking through the fabric over the past year, through a New England winter. Some water will seep around the edges after heavy rain, but it’s minor, and no fault of the cover.

personally I think the matte fabric look of the x15 is so much nicer than anything else on the market, and I’d highly recommend it
