Glad I got a 22. Love the keypad. Had it on every Ford I ever owned. Which is 3.

I never had a vehicle with a keypad. I got lucky on a cancelled order which has one. Gotta say I seen no point until I got my truck. I use it all the time. I would pay $230 all day and I’m definitely cheap lol.

I'm guessing if this is a dealer installed option it would be the two-sided tape battery option. On the Bronco if you get the factory installed one it comes painted the same color as the car, the dealer installed is black.

Price seems high for the battery one and cheap for the wired one. I noticed on the assembly video there is an opening in the door to accommodate the wired keypad. If the dealer needs to cutting into the door to install the keypad $230 seems cheap.

I like having the keypad on my 2010 Lincoln, but it's painted and blends in with the door.

I really like the keypad on my daughters Escape that is built into the black front door pillar. You don't see anything until you touch that area and the numbers light up. You think Ford would at least have that on the high end Lariat.

To me, the black add-on is ugly. I will live without this option if my '23-'24 Maverick gets built.

It's a truck. Ford's trucks still get SecuriCode keypads with physical buttons because truck. All others (best I can tell) get the capacitive ones hidden behind the glossy B-pillar on the driver door.

I hate to burst the bubble, but it will NOT be the 12v vehicle powered pad, The wiring will not be there, Ford has 9 different options for Drivers Door wire harness.

And who knows what dash harness you would need to mate to make it work. And it is wired in the door and The actual Door is different between the two options.

If Ford was still building them like in the 90s and earlier when there was just one wire harness and you could plug and play, it would be doable. But with all the different configurations, it is impactable to hard wire it in.

By a strange coincidence, I inadvertently locked myself out of my wonderful 2022 Hybrid Maverick this morning. The door lock is a tiny lever next to the door latch, and I hit it by mistake when I opened the door to get out. I was at the far end of the farm about 1/2 a mile from the spare key. And my Verizon cell phone had zero signal at the time.

Fortunately, I have a factory installed SecuriCode keypad on my wonderful Mavericks, so I was back in in 15 seconds. That is why I have had the SecuriCode keypad on all of my many Ford trucks over the past 30 years.

I am very leery of dealer installed options. Not all dealers have quality service technicians.

Not sure how that translates to 2024. For 2022-23, XLT and Lariat get SecuriCode standard, so those variants of the harness listed have the wiring for it. Have they changed the harnesses to drop the keypad wiring?

Only XL didn't get it, which is why there's the version for BLIS without keypad. The only options that XL got that should affect it are with/without CP360/BLIS, no keypad, no heated mirrors, etc.

This one sounds like XL without CP360 package except it's listed as having the spotter mirror that XL doesn't have.

The community has spoken and Ford has listened. Keypad is now a Dealer Installed Option, cost is $230 and can be added to the order now.
Keypad came equipped on my 23 XLT Hybrid. Not sure if standard equipment but was not ordered (Long McArthur).

I didn't price, that it what the charge is on the order when you add it.
Keep the keypad and give us the real 2nd key fob.
You do get 2 keyfobs on all trims. The option for one remote and one key is there IF they need to use it for part issues. The order guide would say required option otherwise.

I use the key pad all the time. However, I wouldn't knowing pay $100 for one. The cost needs to be hidden in package deal like the luxury package.
