It will be the stick on keypad not the hard wired one and the cost of $230 covers the keypad and programming by the dealer. Since around 2019 or so these keypads cannot be programmed using the 8 cycles key on key off with the fob procedure as in past years. They need to use a tool, not sure if it is Forscan or what.

...Only 5 buttons but they have multiple numbers, even though only the first press counts. Why not just keep it 1-5...
Same reason your phone has 3 letters on most of the keys; not enough keys.

FORScan is an unofficial 3rd party utility. It might be possible to program the keypad with it, but that's not the official dealer service tool (IDS).

Requires Dealer Service Tool (IDS/FDRS)

Yep, that's the one. The dealer failed on installing a new one on my Ranger a few years back. They gave me my money back on the keypad and did not charged me for the programming attempt. Verdict. Truck too old. My old one died after 15 years. Battery replacement was also a no go.

Don't know about now, but even Mavericks for 2024 may come with the "code" on a card in the glovebox. If not there, it used to be printed on the PCM that was under the dash/kick panel area. That was how it was done....well over 10 years ago.

I love the Ford keyless entry pad. Have had one on two Explorers, an Expedition, and my current 08 F-150. Glad my 23 Lariat MAV will have it. Have never liked the 5 digit Though. 4 has worked for my ATM card since like 1979.
