Yes, Ford was incredibly responsive when it came to getting a tow truck out (had acknowledgment that a tow truck was on it's way within a couple minutes of requesting roadside assistance through the APP. Also, there wasn't much back and forth with the dealer and Ford corporate - it was a quick "were going to replace the entire long block assembly.

The First and only oil Change was at 7500 Miles (Still had 20%+ oil life per oil indicator). Yes, broke the engine in very gently keeping to speed limits, no high revs, varied the throttle, no road trips at same RPM for the first thousand miles.

I should clarify the 2024 that had the engine failure was also a hybrid and not the ecoboost engine.
I would never wait untill 7500 for a first oil change. The engine is breaking in and wearing the piston rings and other moving parts. I did my first oil change at 3000 miles. I thought I waited to long. I don't want to rely on a oil life meter. I currently have 12050 miles and my next oil change will be the third since the factory oil.

Ah the intellectually deep, you don't see things the way I do so you must be a paid shill argument.
Well done, there's no refuting that.
You called him a liar without proof ! Hardly more intellectually challenged than that !

Just old wives tales I say. I would never wait until 7500 either. I would wait till 9500. Oil life meter is GOD now. 😝😝😝. Just messing’.

you definitely did not call the OP a liar. (edited) MasterBlaster did express surprise and made some hyperbolic statements expressing his opinion that it's very unlikely the OPs two trucks would fail like this without being driven abusively hard.

I 100% agree that it's very unlikely for this issue to happen to the OP twice, but it has.

I disagree that there is a required, or even likely, component of abusive driving. That's my opinion. I believe however unlikely that the OPs two trucks could fail despite being normally driven and not misused. (And that's having been a teen once and I learned how to do burnouts in a manual transmission RWD car, and I've seen my own 18 year old son drive, LOL.)

The guy you (TwoTone) are arguing with first called someone a shill, then a liar. That's the kind of high quality content and meaningful dialogue that really moves the MTC community forward, right?

Find and quote where I did that.

Here's a hint and the user names aren't even close.

The odds of treating them nicely and having two of them blow an engine are so ridiculous that it just doesn't happen. You probably have better odds on being struck by lightning five time in the same day. What are you doing to destroy the engines? Or are you lending it to your son and they destroy it without telling you?

I was just finding that myself. I'll apologize now, and edit.

Still, my point would be that *MasterBlaster* didn't call the OP a liar, either.

Have had something similar happen to me (total loss of power) and it is scary as hell. Live appx 50 miles from Boston and was leaving work next to I 95 in rush hour traffic and had just gotten into the left lane when it happened to me. Like you... was able to get into the breakdown lane without causing an accident. How I don't know. Luckily it was not a section of the highway where they allowed travel in the breakdown lane during rush hour. This was a Subaru, known for quality. Walked back to my office (could see the building from where it happened) and called the nearest Subaru dealer (about 15 miles away) and they had a truck to me within 20 min. Was lucky many in many ways... 1st was able to get a loaner for the night (person that had reserved had not shown up), 2nd it was only the timing belt (was no where near the recommend belt change for the vehicle), 3rd no damage to the engine, 4th, car was ready the following day. Never used that dealer prior, but used them pretty much exclusively till I got rid of the vehicle to buy my 1st SUV. Not often you get that kind of service.
Why would they allow traffic to flow in the emergency lane? Doesn't that completely negate it's intended purpose?

Totally agree with you. However, the powers that be here in MA often allow breakdown lane use for driving during rush hour until they finally widen the highway. In some cases that has been 10 - 20 years. hahahaha

A woman that worked for me at had her broken down car smashed in the rear and totaled by some one driving in the breakdown lane. Thankfully, she had left the vehicle and walked off the highway (exit was only several hundred feet from where it broke down).

I had loss of power limp mode on the highway..that was scary. Turned out the engine failed and Ford replaced under customer satisfaction program. Now I am experiencing random misfires. So something is going on. ,2022 xlt built February ,3022

Yikes, that doesn’t sound good, hopefully it’s something minor this time, not another engine replacement 😳

2025 Maverick Lariat hybrid AWD. Lost all propulsion power about five times since July 2025 for 2 to 3 seconds under heavy acceleration, then came right back up. No traction control light and no check engine light.

Glad I live in Utah. Our state is very proactive in adding additional freeway lanes. In a few years or so it is likely the 360 mile length of I-15 in the entire state will be at minimum 3 lanes in each direction from Idaho down to Arizona. And along the Wasatch Front in northern Utah it is already up to 6 lanes in each direction, and still have emergency pull off lanes on both sides of the freeway.

My understanding is Ford will only replace the engine the one time for the poorly machined ones out of the plant. Can someone confirm this?
