I have 6 stick shift Sentras, all w/ hand E brakes. I can attest that you don’t ever want to have to rely on them stopping you in a hurry !
They are all rear drum brakes, so built strong enough for service and E brake use - they are all drum brake , not like the typical rear disc brakes that...
Just to be clear, the Maverick has at least 3 separate ways to engage the hydraulic service brakes, which themselves are also a split system.
1) Through brake pedal application.
2)Through automatic braking &
3) Through using the e brake handle.
Transport Canada calls it a parking brake and from what I can see of the regulations, it only has to keep it from moving once stopped by the service brakes.
Yes, there are some Maverick owners who can’t seem to stand the slightest constructive criticism of their little “ Johnny “ Maverick. Like some people w/ their kids or pets. They’re perfect , don’t you know ! Some will even blame the owner ! It has to be your fault ! And because it never...
I agree.
Not sure if low end electronics are a great example though. The US still makes many high end chips. Electronics manufacturing typically is very automated. So, biggest costs tend to be “ getting going “ and engineering. Land, permits, fees, building.

Boo hoo Farley ! You bet wrong on electric vehicles and now the ICE vehicles have to save your bacon. You off shored what used to be American jobs. Maybe it would be patriotic of you to bring back some of those jobs. Do you realize how much extra pollution is emitted by having parts made in...
Sorry, I somehow on my phone screen mixed you up w/ someone ( Master Blaster)who was intimidating that the OP was lying or was to blame. There seem to be a few on this site that go hysterical when somebody has problems w/ their Mav - because they’re perfect and all, right ?
Typically, extended warranties have 100% markup by the dealer. Example : Ford sells it to the dealer for $1500 , dealer charges $3k and pockets the difference. Not bad for a few minutes work !
I don’t consider that a reasonable deal, however if it suits you - you do you.
Another factor to...
I see a lot of ‘24’s at discounted pricing in my area. Do the ‘24’s have axle issues , or was that fixed ? The ‘25’s are improved in various ways , so would it be better to spend more and get a ‘25 ?
Never had one, so can’t opine. But, it’s good Mav owners voice their opinions - some of those get read by Ford and the competition- which might have some impact on their planning.
ignore the haters who can’t take any criticism of their beloved Mav.
And for those who justify some things because...
I ordered a ‘24 XL 4K in late August, it came late November. 3 month wait, which seems like build times are basically back to pre Covid. This is in Ontario, Canada.
