Sorry for the truck, but looks like it did its job of keeping you safe. If insurance gives you a bunch of mess, do like I did. Tell them to find you a replacement and deliver it. They won’t do it, but if you can find one, show the prices, then tell them when they want to get “real” to give you a call and hang up. They have to “close” the claim in a certain number of days so they will then give you a better offer…. Just stand your ground and be persistent… good luck and keep us posted.

Yes I am ok just really sore. My wrist and hands are sore and my hands got pretty cut up. It also feels like Mike Tyson punched me right in the middle of my chest, and I’m sure it will feel worse tomorrow hahaha. Honestly shocked about how well it took the impact. Hitting a stopped (sideways) car at 65 and everything past the firewall was fine. Windshield was in one piece, and all the doors worked as that should. It even was able to drive under electric power (I thought I put it in park but put it in reverse and it rolled back about a car length). Say what you want about it being “ cheap” and bad paint and rattles and whatever else you want to complain about, it’s a SAFE vehicle.
GLAD YOU ARE OK

Love that front steel bumper; on the insurance issue, there should not be any depreciation as your Mav is current year…..and don’t forget to include car rental costs in your claim. Best to a fast recovery and getting a new Maverick.

Man, been seeing way too much of this lately. Why does everyone want to pick on the little guy.?! Sorry man!
The lady had probably just had her maverick cancelled on her and she got mad at you for having yours.

But in all seriousness, glad you are ok, I hope you are able to find another one soon, also if you haven't already, there is like 5-10 Maverick forums on fakebook.

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me last week... My insurance is telling me it's totaled 😭 I love my truck and I don't know what to do next. To make it worse it's my first accident ever so there's an extra layer of misery to ruin my baby
At Ford to replace tire. They don't know how to put spare back on Maverick? Will think twice about Ford in future 😔

Just curious as to what the steroids are supposed to do for ringing in the ears? Maybe your son's ear drums were damaged from the air bag deploying? I've been dealing with ringing in my ears for months now but mine just kind of came out of nowhere. My doctor tells me there's really nothing I can do and it may go away on it's own and it may not. Your post caught my eye (ear, lol) and thought I would inquire:)
Steroids are generally anti inflammatory injecting in the proper place in a form that's resistant to draining out rapidly helps a lot and is generally given in several doses over a period of time. It is also beneficial to relax and Take a nap or something to prolong the draining. Also in some cases a defect develops in a small bone which will allow certain sounds to enter the inner ear. In my case I hear my jaw joint when I open and close my my mouth. The right side louder than the left. This in addition to incessant hearing. Best to see ear specialist and get diagnosed for your own situation. My wife was diagnosed many years ago with "Ménière's disease usually starts in one ear, but later may involve both. Smoking, infections, or a high-salt diet may worsen the disease" balance and vertigo issues. She couldn't work or drive for almost two years and was put on Ultra low salt diet does not order take out salty foods.

I'm glad the OP is ok and "walked away". Unfortunately I think we're going to see a battle about how the insurance companies view a cars value vs market value in these modern car sales times.

I can’t explain how it works, but they do use steroids. I had an episode where I lost a substantial amount of hearing once just out of the blue. I had to get two steroid injections into my eardrum to help try and recover it unfortunately it didn’t work snd I still have only about 30% of my hearing in one ear.

Well on the way home today a lady lost control and Spun out in the middle lane then shot in front of me, hit the wall and I had no choice but to hit them at 65mph. Heavy traffic and a wall on one side meant slam on the brakes and brace for impact. So bummed that I’m losing all the work I’ve put into it in the last couple months. Not sure what to do next since I can’t even order a new one in til next year.

Poor one out for me boys 😕

Hate to hear this, but it looks like the Maverick held up pretty well! Hope you are able to replace it sooner than later.

I am not on the collision side of things, but I am curious to see if this is actually totaled. It doesn't look great, but no where near as badly as I would have expected based on the accident description.

Glad to see you are ok. Meanwhile, my suggestion is that you start collecting data regarding the value of your vehicle at the time of the accident. Check sites like Carmax, Carvana, Shift, Vroom, Ford dealers etc. and print out the prices of similar Lariat hybrids in the 5k mileage range. Be certain the date shows on your documents and note any delivery charges and other fees like doc fees and taxes. You paid those when you purchased. Insurance companies use a valuation that generally favors them.

Truck did its job and protected you. We honor its sacrifice. Hope you can find a replacement.
This - raise a beer to the Ford engineers who's design meant you got to walk away.

It sucks hard but it could have been MUCH worse. Glad you are ok.

I wonder how viable it would be to take the damaged front end of this Maverick and splicing it with damaged rear-end Mavericks to try to make a "complete" truck. Probably not worth the effort, but I'm sure there will be panel parts like the tailgate and such that will have quite the resale value due to the parts shortages for the Maverick.

Shit, I bet you can probably sell that undamaged tailgate to the guy whose Maverick was rear-ended by the Tacoma.

So sorry for your lost Maverick, glad you had minimal injuries, but I'd dread dealing/looking for a replacement, since we have love affairs with our Mavericks. Hopefully others on this board spots a used Maverick at a Ford dealer and share the info...airfare to a remote Ford dealer is cheap if you can find one close to MSRP. I save about $2,000 on my original purchase with a $290 plane fare/700 miles from home.

Never had an auto insurance claim but I assume the other party causing the wreck, covers your claim and your Insurance company is backup coverage if they default in any way...at least that is how mine works.

Keep in mind that any of your injuries (shoulder, neck, arm bones) could linger for years ahead.
Looks like lost wages missed should be covered, and rental vehicle, even if you have another vehicle.
Insurance companies on either side will be looking to replace the Maverick at MSPR, and you can rest assured they will fight for MSPR. don't know about taxes. But any accessories should be covered too.
New cars for 20+ yrs are made to crumble on impact keeping the passengers safe but that includes crumple zones that very quickly cause a vehicle to be TOTALED.
All newer vehicle bodies are mostly clued together which makes retrieval of parts for the junk yard resale more and more difficult...takes more labor costs to pull off parts than it's worth. Only realistic salvage parts are seats, lights and mechanicals like engine & transmission parts.

Good luck sent your way.
