Man that last picture really hit hard seeing it up on the tow truck like that. Hope you get better and get a payout you deserve out of your truck.

Yes I am ok just really sore. My wrist and hands are sore and my hands got pretty cut up. It also feels like Mike Tyson punched me right in the middle of my chest, and I’m sure it will feel worse tomorrow hahaha. Honestly shocked about how well it took the impact. Hitting a stopped (sideways) car at 65 and everything past the firewall was fine. Windshield was in one piece, and all the doors worked as that should. It even was able to drive under electric power (I thought I put it in park but put it in reverse and it rolled back about a car length). Say what you want about it being ā€œ cheapā€ and bad paint and rattles and whatever else you want to complain about, it’s a SAFE vehicle.
In reality, the only thing that matters is that the Mav did it’s job and you are alive: period!

That sucks. glad youre ok! Awesome that it stayed that much intact though. I really think success of a cheap vehicle is dependent on parts availability to cheap people. I mean there is plenty on here with rear end damage. Im sure parts of your will make other Mavericks whole in time.

Please take this the right way, as I don't mean it in a bad way (but I know text is a b).

It's just a vehicle. A pile of metal and plastic. You are what matters, ultimately, for not only yourself but your family. I've seen some horrific results of similar speed crashes friends and family have gone through, some literally never were the same afterwords.

If you really, really want a Maverick, keep an eye out for one but buy something cheap and reliable in the meantime. If not, it's just a car, just get what you can.

You're safe. That's what matters. Sorry it happened, but glad you're ok.

I know it's heartbreaking especially knowing you can just go out and buy a replacement. Love that white color and you had it looking sharp. Like others have said the truck did its job. I had a drunk driver hit me in a 2009 Ford Ranger. Flipped it and spun around several times. She looked rough, but the cab did its job protecting myself and my passenger. I think at the end of the day that is all one can hope for. Glad you are good. You'll luck up on another one.

I suppose. The whole thing is sad. I know, shit happens but this wait and the anticipation then having it and now it's gone. And finding a new ride..... Hope you're feeling better. Maybe a motorcycle?
a motorcycle?! imagine the same sitution occured when he was riding that - 65 mpg crash - 0 air bags of course - he wouldn't have been able to post anything ever again.

You know what I would do? I'd say wow accident at 65 mph
Well on the way home today a lady lost control and Spun out in the middle lane then shot in front of me, hit the wall and I had no choice but to hit them at 65mph. Heavy traffic and a wall on one side meant slam on the brakes and brace for impact. So bummed that I’m losing all the work I’ve put into it in the last couple months. Not sure what to do next since I can’t even order a new one in til next year.

Poor one out for me boys šŸ˜•

Here is what I would do. I would sit down in a quiet place and think about how I escaped serious injury or worse, how I walked away from a terrible accident and survived and how well the truck is built to sustain the accident and then I'd consider how life can end - just like that - and recall how happy I was with the truck. And then I would treat myself to happiness and safety and I would go right out in the next few weeks and find another one - yes likely on a dealer lot with a markup - and I would purchase it and I would never ever look back and have any regrets. Your life and happiness is worth more than the extra 5K or so you will likely have to pay. But it's ok you deserve to enjoy your life. Celebrate yourself.

Thanks for all the positive comments! Yes I am very very happy to be alive and safe and mostly unharmed. You are all correct, the truck did it’s job and I’m shocked how well it took the hit.

Soooo sorry to hear about your wreck. Oddly enough, this is similar to what happened to me almost exactly a year ago. I had a WRX I really enjoyed and a lady plowed into the back of me at a stop light. No injuries to my wife or I but totaled my car. I was fortunate that I got more than I paid for the car and we were both safe. I stumbled on a Maverick at a dealership and have really enjoyed this truck. I really hate to see you lost yours but am glad you are safe.

So glad you are okay. Crazy drivers, that I'm so afraid of. Almost got tagged a few days ago on I-95 here near downtown Jacksonville by an 18-wheeler that was supposed to be merging but never yielded and thought he owned the road! My wife and I have commented that if for whatever reason our RR, FE got totaled it would be well over a year wait to replace "Ruby." And we lover her! Stay safe!

I honestly don’t remember, I think I hit the brakes first. It all happen so fast, and I watched it all happen. Remember hitting the brakes And then watching the hood crunch and feeling the entire truck off the ground before it came back down and shit went flying. Very grateful for the KNEE airbag, I have a feeling my legs would have been much worse off without it.
Knee airbag? Didn’t know there was such a thing but does make good sense they have them now.
