Ford may not be a perfect company, but they know safety very well.Knee airbag? Didn’t know there was such a thing but does make good sense they have them now.
Agreed, it’s a rough time to be a body shop. They have to consider loaner cost more than ever. If they think they can save the car but the person will be in a loaner for 4 months at $50 per day, that can total the car with that added to the repair cost. Sad times in the repair business.Glad you're okay. In better days I've seen worse hits get repaired, but we're in the strapped for parts era and nobody can be certain what an insurance company will do. Hopefully if they do write it off the parts will go to good use to spare someone else from losing theirs. Perhaps someone on here who has been rear-ended can benefit from it.
Heck, with the parts supply issues it might even be beneficial to buy it back and part it out.
I am under the impression the steroid was for the ringing; he is to return to the ENT in two weeks. I could be wrong. I recently got hearing aids. I am not bothered with tinnitus, but I was told the latest hearing aids can include a feature that interferes with the continual or off-and-on noise. Something you may consider if your problem becomes long term........Just curious as to what the steroids are supposed to do for ringing in the ears? Maybe your son's ear drums were damaged from the air bag deploying? I've been dealing with ringing in my ears for months now but mine just kind of came out of nowhere. My doctor tells me there's really nothing I can do and it may go away on it's own and it may not. Your post caught my eye (ear, lol) and thought I would inquire![]()
The only possible thing I could add is Ford is built tough in more ways than one.Truck did its job and protected you. We honor its sacrifice. Hope you can find a replacement.
