RIP buddy, it was a fun 5k miles

Well on the way home today a lady lost control and Spun out in the middle lane then shot in front of me, hit the wall and I had no choice but to hit them at 65mph. Heavy traffic and a wall on one side meant slam on the brakes and brace for impact. So bummed that I’m losing all the work I’ve put into it in the last couple months. Not sure what to do next since I can’t even order a new one in til next year.

Poor one out for me boys

If you were able to walk away and not injured, great news. Getting in an accident is my biggest fear since there is no immediate replacement.

Yes I am ok just really sore. My wrist and hands are sore and my hands got pretty cut up. It also feels like Mike Tyson punched me right in the middle of my chest, and I’m sure it will feel worse tomorrow hahaha. Honestly shocked about how well it took the impact. Hitting a stopped (sideways) car at 65 and everything past the firewall was fine. Windshield was in one piece, and all the doors worked as that should. It even was able to drive under electric power (I thought I put it in park but put it in reverse and it rolled back about a car length). Say what you want about it being “ cheap” and bad paint and rattles and whatever else you want to complain about, it’s a SAFE vehicle.

There will be a Maverick to be had out there on the lot. You just have to be willing to pay the ADM. You won't be the first.
If I were in your shoes, I might pay up to $3k in ADM rather than buy something I won't like. My Mav is perfect for me.

I’m sure I’ll have a battle on my hands when it comes to what value they want to give me for it when used ones are selling for $10-15k over sticker. I’ll be damn sure I get every penny of that.
As far as what is next, still not sure. I have a Fusion Titanium Hybrid to drive until I figure it out so that won’t be terrible I guess. Thinking maybe a CPO Mach E? Not sure yet. I have friends at a few Ford stores so maybe someone will back out of an order in the next couple months and I can jump on something. We will wait and see!

That looked like a beauty, and very similar to my order that I'm waiting on - A white Lariat hybrid with the lux and 360 assist packages, moonroof, etc.

I hope that you can replace it with something. Does your insurance have a new car replacement benefit? Some will offer that if your vehicle is less than a year old, might be worth looking into.

Can you comment on the automatic emergency braking or pre-collision assist? Did they go off, did the truck warn you, did it slam on the brakes faster than you could have and pre-tension the seatbelts, etc?
