Great to hear you were able to walk away from this one. Folks are always moaning about 'gummint regulations' but I think this merits some praise...seatbelts and airbags and energy-absorbing crush zones in today's cars are making it more likely to survive a crash.

I'd wait for the AWD hybrid too, if you can manage it.

Welp it happened. Uninsured motorist tried to pull off a u-turn across a highway without looking first. I took off his front end with my passenger side headlight and wound up rolling the truck into the dunes next to the road.

Truck kept me safe, able to walk away with nothing but some bruises.

Planning on replacing this rig with a new one, jury's out if I'll stick with the hybrid or swap to the AWD. Sad the color isn't available anymore though.

Insane pics and that must have been traumatic as hell! Totaled 2 times over. Chalk one up for CheeseWhiz as an MTC survivor. Here's to your health!

I'll dare say Humboldt County looks as rugged a county as I've ever seen. Try AWD and a lighter color.

Glad you made it out of that with only burses. Just a thought, if you plan on getting another Mav, be sure to grab what mods you put on her (why do most guys always call their trucks her?) so that you can at least save a little tricking out the new truck.

Sharing the sentiment of others in that I’m glad you’re thru this uninjured. Back in the day when “crumple-zones” were a new thing I thought “I don’t want my car to destroy itself in a crash” but of course yes I do because it’s all about deflecting forces away from the occupants and dissipating energy of impacts in a controlled way.

Anyway… Alto Blue was the best color, darn it. I wound up with a Cactus Grey one which I do like.

if they brought back that blue (or Antimatter Blue) down the line I’d be tempted
