For those of you that have replaced the 12 volt battery with a heavier duty battery trying to solve the deep sleep problem, what battery have you used and how effective was it?

I replaced mine with an AC Delco LN1AGM battery, which is the same size as the factory battery, but more power and AGM. So far it has been great! Battery state of charge hovers between 82-87%. I am not the first to use this battery. It’s a little pricey, but AGM should cure the discharge problem with the factory flooded batteries. This applies to hybrid only, of course.

I just replaced mine withe the Diehard Gold 2 days ago. Exact fit. I also changed 2 settings in the body control module with Forscan. Upped the charge level from 80 to 95 %, also changed the battery type from agm to flooded. I also disabled all the connectivity crap.... didn't pull fuse 11 though.

My '22 XLT would go into deep sleep on a regular basis, about every 2-4 days if I was just be-bopping around town. Truck always started though. My dealer changed out the stock battery once with a Motorcraft Max battery. That solved it for about a month.

The deep sleep issue for me was worse in winter. the colder it got, the more frequent the deep sleep. Like I said, the truck always started, but the annoyance for me was no interior lights in the dark depths of winter. Pissed me off that I had to fumble in the dark in a new truck. I think they had dome lights figured out back in the 30's.

So we'll see. I'm hopeful but not optimistic. My online research shows multiple Ford vehicles with the deep sleep issue. And I kinda think when fall rolls around, and the temps drop, my interior lights will go dark once again.

Maybe there is a fix. There are reports on this forum from people who are blissfully unaffected by the dreaded deep sleep. They must be livin' right.

I got the Weize H5 which does require removing the battery locating tabs to fit and is a bit more work to install (taking out the plastic surround). No issues, although then the OEM only really consistently hit deep sleep for me in the fall/winter.

Amazing! So hard to believe that Ford cannot resolve this issue at dealership by now. Certainly as a PR initiative you would think that this so very simple issue would be addressed. I am amazed that resolutions at the consumer level exist as, well. This situation is simply hard to comprehend. I applaud all of you individuals out there taking this bull by the horns. Thank You! 🤓

How long ago did you make the change?

Well, I just picked up my ‘24 hybrid two days ago, and joined this group yesterday. I should have joined sooner, had no idea there were battery problems till I saw this post. I’ll start carrying my emergency jump battery and let you know if I have problems.

My 22 xlt also suffers from deep sleep mode all the time, it is tiresome especially in Winter when it is dark out. I don't drive a lot, just under 10000 miles so far.. the battery was switched out right after I got her, but it didn't fix the problem.

Maybe that new recall /update will fix that problem . it's suppose to change the charging rate of alternator . I won't hold my breath . I found that turning off start/stop helpful in keeping battery charged . My Mav is suppose to have AGM battery but has other type . I only have 8500 miles on my 22 .

I have 22 lariat. Never failed to start. I do try to put my noco5 amp maintainer for two or more days about every third month. Learned to do this on my 2012 Honda crv that would eat a battery every 30-36 months.

First night I got my Hybrid home (Oct., 2023, after a month from Built to Delivery), I connected it to my NOCO battery tender. Since then, I always connect the NOCO (under the hood at jump points) if I know the truck will be sitting for a few days. I installed a quick-connect plug under the hood for this.

14k miles and I've never had deep sleep issues, and dome lights have never failed to come on.

Can you point me to the recall/update that mucks with the charging rate? Start/stop will use battery power in the middle of a trip, but does nothing(AFAIK) when the vehicle is parked.
I am around 4700 miles on my '22 XLT eco FWD. The battery has been putting things to sleep ever since I got the truck. Fully charged Sunday June 9, and I got the putting to sleep warning Monday or Tuesday just over a week later. I have the Wifi turned off.
The factory OEM battery is a FLA, not an AGM. I thought is was some 'premium' hybrid FLA/AGM from reading something/somewhere, but was corrected when I searched the part number on the battery top. If you look for a replacement, you will find the dealer battery is the same number, almost, with AGM (or "A") added.

As I have reported in other posts. Mine went into the DEEP sleep. It was driven the day before with no issues. When we went to start it, nothing… no lights on the dash at all. Called the dealer for roadside service to come jump start it, and we were bringing it in to be looked at and needed a loaner. 28 days later we got it back. Thank goodness they paid for the rental car. They had no idea why and worked with Ford to diagnose and get it resolved. New battery, TCM, and BCM.

The moral of the story, don’t bandaid it, the more people that will take it to the dealers, the more Ford will realize that there is an issue and it needs resolved.
