A lot of people with Hulk hands or something around here I guess. 🤷‍♂️
Nope, I've never set mine off with my hands, it's always been when I've had the fob in my pocket. Anyone who doesn't work an office job has issues with these flip keys and panic buttons.

I have enough spares atm. If I need any more in the future, I'll get the stealership to program another one.

My used 23 only had one key so I bought another key on eBay then took it to Meadows Ford in Mountain View. They programmed it for $65. I’ve not bothered to have metal key cut.

There are reasons why. Here's one that happened to me twice:

Try setting it off accidentally when you're parked right by someone's bedroom where they are sleeping, only to find the GD thing won't shut off until you: Manually unlock the door, put the key in the ignition and turn on the truck. This happened to me twice. And I do not want it to happen again. I don't need the stupid panic button. And when I park my truck in a parking lot, I note where it is, so I won't annoy people by rudely setting off an annoying alarm, just to find my truck later.

To OP: thanks again for posting this very helpful information!
Yeah, I get all that and those are valid reasons, but it's not something I would do. To be clear, I wasn't being critical, merely professing a different opinion.
BTW, I get annoyed by the double honk. Not sure if I'm being warned or it's just someone locking/unlocking their vehicle. Aren't the flashing lights enough?

If you don't like the double honk, just turn it off in the instrument cluster Lock settings, by disabling "Mis-lock Chirp."

Thank you for the help. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Mine IS turned off. I was referring to other drivers.

Is it something with that specific keyfob? I have the Lariat with keyless entry and have my fob in a case, but I have never found the panic button to be easy to push by accident (or intentionally for that matter).
Your Mileage May Vary: I have the Lariat KeyFob and it happens to me all the time, especially when I have other things in my pocket that can accidentally press it. I HATE that Ford did not allow for this to be simply disabled via the onboard menu settings.

ALSO, why is the fob so dam BIG? It's HUGE compared to all other key fobs I have had. Even that it has the emergency key stored inside it, it doesn't need to be so honking huge! I really think Ford should take design lessons from the Japanese.

I just hit the lock button twice and the lights flash and horn honks once if lock is successful or twice if lock is not successful.
This is indeed what the 24MY manual suggests.

LOCATING YOUR VEHICLE

Ford Maverick Remove panic button from Maverick key fob (DIY how-to disassemble) {filename}
Press the lock button twice within three seconds. The turn signal lamps flash.
Note: We recommend you use this method to locate your vehicle.

Nope.
When my wife and I are in Las Vegas staying at my sister's house and I can't see the truck. I will hit the lock button twice and listen for the horn.
When in town shopping.
The Walmart and Sam's Club that my wife and I shop at, caters to a lot of rural customers, therefore there are a lot of full size pickup trucks in the parking lot. With the little Maverick parked in between you can't see the lights. But we can hear the horn.

Mine was accidentally setting it off before sunrise getting ready to go into the woods to hunt. Property owner didn't say anything but I'm sure they weren't happy. I wasn't gonna wait until they said something.
Button came off after the second time it happened.
Yeah, it can be embarrassingly awkward. I've done it once or twice.

Doesn't Tesla have something like that? 🤔
Yes, they do. Saw it in action. Guy parked his car with it because the space was too tight for him to enter/exit. Weirdly cool.

super effing easy with these, I hit it by accident at least once a week, usually when I'm carrying the fob and something else in the same hand :(
