I love my truck so far. However, the last couple of days the remote start from my phone hasn't been working on my hybrid. Is -5 with -25 wind chills too cold for the starter to work? It did work at first. I did uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone. Any insight would be greatly.appreciated.
Same here in Michigan, 5 below zero, truck sat 2 days, started right up with the phone app.

My phone app doesn't work right when my truck is in battery save mode.

It is usually due to a low battery

My Maverick has been sitting a lot lately as the temp has dropped below 0°. Initially it would not remote start, but after driving 80 miles on an errand it now fires right up. It did start ok with a key prior to driving. 22' EB so I assume the battery was a little weak.

It slides across and spins for some time. Then, just turns off. The vehicle does not start at all.
maybe the internet connection between your phone and your truck did not connect. Mine has done that on rare occasions but not weather related. '23 Lariat EB.

I restarted my phone this morning and the remote start worked. Although, it is up to a balmy 6 degrees here in WI this am.
Great!
So it was either phone app OR battery level.. ;)

My 22 XL remote start quit working but so did my dome lights on entry. Turned out the regular battery was bad. Ford replaced battery under warranty and every thing is fine.

It's been very bitter here in Kansas the last few days and we haven't had any problems. My hubby, who is the main driver, loves for me to start it from home while he's walking across the parking lot at work. It takes so little to make him happy with his little trucklet!

5 AM Tuesday mine didn't start with the APP. Last 2 days no issues and it's colder.
An App communication issue.

Put your battery on a charger overnight. If that fixes it, your battery is either going bad or your truck isn't keeping it fully charged.

OK,
Is your phone still linked (wifi) to the truck?
Theres a signal loss, somewhere...
And you have reloaded the App... as you stated.

Phones' not talk-in to the truck..
Anyone else? Have any ideas?

Edit: I did a online search....
If your Ford Pass app's remote start feature suddenly stopped working, it could be due to several reasons including: a weak vehicle battery, a faulty connection with the cellular network, an outdated Ford Pass app, issues with your vehicle's settings, or too many recent remote start attempts; try checking your vehicle's settings within the app, updating the app, restarting your phone, ensuring your vehicle is properly connected to the network, and checking for any open doors or alerts on the app.

Key things to check:
  • App updates: Make sure you have the latest version of the Ford Pass app on your phone.

  • Vehicle settings: Check that remote start is enabled in your vehicle's settings through the infotainment system.

  • Cellular connection: Ensure your vehicle has a strong cellular signal.

  • Battery level: Check if your vehicle's battery is sufficiently charged.

  • Door status: Verify all doors are closed and the vehicle is in park.

  • Recent attempts: If you've tried remote starting too many times recently, wait a bit before trying again.

  • App issues: Try restarting your phone and force-closing the Ford Pass app.

Jerry
FYI - the app doesn't talk to the truck via wifi, or directly at all.

The app talks to the Ford app server, which probably talks to another Ford server, which the truck also talks to.

Standing next to truck is unnecessary unless you can't see from the window any lights turn on.

Mine failed to start today, been doing it daily during this arctic blast.
Been doing the swipe on the way in to finish getting dressed, about 5 min before walking out door.

No warning on main app screen about deep sleep on and remote start off.
Though I don't really scan around for it. If disabled the swipe would have been grayed out.
So I immediately put phone down expecting it would start up after connecting like it has done.

Went out door and truck not running, app didn't have an error, but it was running.
So I'm guessing either no feedback, or a timed pop-up I missed about some issue.

Perhaps the truck never got to send the final alert about going into deep sleep, and it just did it, or communication issue and I never got the alert it did send.
My battery level sure should have been disabling remote access for several days, shocked I had it up till now.

ETA - may have been an app update - just went back in, and asked to provide an answer to sharing truck data with the dealer so they can help me with service, I said No.

I haven't tried today, although last night it was only six below. But yesterday morning I fired it up with the app and I was happy that it started. It was 16 below zero and I thought maybe I would have an issue but luckily I didn't. I would think it has something to do with maybe the battery being too low to remote start. Especially in these cold conditions that would make the most sense.
