Hope I have the same luck! Mines being built 5/23 week. If I got mine middle or early June I’d be estatic
Keep in mind that, from his profile, he's in AZ, that's not a long ride from the border of Mexico.

Mines was built and shipped 4/22 but it's headed to PA so longer travel. Don't have the vehicle at the dealer yet here.

What it means is that, for the time being at least, quality control is non-existent.

An employee can make a mistake, but this shows that even on something as super obvious as this got overlooked by everyone else on the assembly line and whoever's job it was to QA the vehicle before delivery to the dealership and the dealership doing their own QA final inspection.

It might even be indicative of a "not my job" cultural problem, which can be a pretty big deal where plenty of people DID see it further down the line but just didn't care instead of raising their hand.

Quality failures result from a flawed process or poor performance. Ford must get the process correct, ensure proper performance from its workers, and continually improve processes to avoid quality failures and the need to attempt to “inspect in” quality. Rework is always more expensive than getting it right the first time.

I can just imagine going to the dealer and telling them your rear door handle is a different color. Sir, I don’t exactly understand what you are talking about. Can’t you see the handle is a different color?

Let me write up a ticket, so the mechanic can see this. We should have your truck back by 5 pm. What? Can’t you see the different colored handle. Sir, I’m just a service person. I can’t diagnose the problem. Ford has trained mechanics that keep your truck running perfectly.

Sir, Im not leaving my truck for 8 hours so your mechanic can see the handle is a different color.

Sir, I don’t have to deal with your aggressive behavior.

What do you mean? I am asking, just have your mechanic come out and look at the handle.

Sir, At ford we don’t work that way. Your truck needs to travel 50 feet to the service bay so a mechanic can diagnose your problem

Sir, all our mechanics are gone for the evening. If you want you can leave your truck overnight , and we will look at it in the morning.

Next day around noon.

Sir, the mechanic looked at the handle. He says it works perfectly.

Now after a little arguing, and getting your self upset, the service manger comes out and says, Sir, I see your problem. We will order you the part and you can set an appointment for 8 weeks from now because the part is on back order.

Your problem will be resolved in 8 weeks.
this is frighteningly accurate based on my recent service visits 😂

Thanks - Mine was scheduled for week of 4/18, built on 4/20, shipped 4/22, delivered 5/4

Very funny, but a little bit worrisome that the factory or the dealership didn't catch something this obvious.

You received the "Harlequin" version Maverick, similar to the Harlequin VW's that were produced, only instead of crazy body panel colors you received door handle panels!

That might screw with my OCD...or my CDO if you want to be really vacuous about it!

This is a little different than normal warranty..... dealer has to follow "misbuilt vehicle" procedures. (Shouldn't be too complicated in this case....but I wouldn't be surprised if it took a long time to get the part in!)

Many car companies have cars sent with the wrong parts on them.

Chrysler with different colored headlights.
Expensive Tesla where they put different a brand of tires on the car.
Car where the bumper is a different color than the car.

Apologies upfront and I, of all people, appreciate the humor in this situation, but this kind of quality oversight is unacceptable from ANY vehicle manufacturer. If something this obvious yet non-functioning-critical to vehicle operation can be missed all the way to delivery, what else might be lurking that was "missed"? Quality is Job 1 ?
