I’m thinking this could be the new hot mod of the year.

Maybe it becomes a community thing where we swap different colored door handles like friendship bracelets.

You know,, it's not a big deal.. but if they can make mistakes like this, they can also mismatch something else we can't see.. like a wire, a screw, a bolt size, things that could go unnoticed until it fails.
What it means is that, for the time being at least, quality control is non-existent.

An employee can make a mistake, but this shows that even on something as super obvious as this got overlooked by everyone else on the assembly line and whoever's job it was to QA the vehicle before delivery to the dealership and the dealership doing their own QA final inspection.

It might even be indicative of a "not my job" cultural problem, which can be a pretty big deal where plenty of people DID see it further down the line but just didn't care instead of raising their hand.

I can just imagine going to the dealer and telling them your rear door handle is a different color. Sir, I don’t exactly understand what you are talking about. Can’t you see the handle is a different color?

Let me write up a ticket, so the mechanic can see this. We should have your truck back by 5 pm. What? Can’t you see the different colored handle. Sir, I’m just a service person. I can’t diagnose the problem. Ford has trained mechanics that keep your truck running perfectly.

Sir, Im not leaving my truck for 8 hours so your mechanic can see the handle is a different color.

Sir, I don’t have to deal with your aggressive behavior.

Next day around noon.

Sir, the mechanic looked at the handle. He says it works perfectly.

Now after a little arguing, and getting your self upset, the service manger comes out and says, Sir, I see your problem. We will order you the part and you can set an appointment for 8 weeks from now because the part is on back order.

Your problem will be resolved in 8 weeks.








Well today was my day - finally took delivery of my Maverick just about 10 months after order. Couldn't be happier 😁

So far, only one minor problem/warranty issue that I missed at dealer is that all my door handles don't match! For some reason, Hermosillo decided that I didn't want all of my door handles to match on my lariat, so they threw in an orange one for fun on the drivers rear door 🤣 Can't complain, at least finally got my Maverick.

Anyone else experience this? Will it be an entire door panel replacement or just the handle 🤔

When I was a salesman at a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth dealership in Indianapolis around 1971 (for a very short time), we had a Plymouth Duster come in with an entire Dodge Demon passenger door panel - logo and all! I think we discussed selling it as-is if the customer wanted it but I don't remember the final outcome.

I think we discussed selling it as-is if the customer wanted it but I don't remember the final outcome.
Knew of a Taurus which arrived at the dealer's lot with Mercury badges.

only explanations i see..
they keep hiring new employees, too much extra overtime , they are under pressure, or simply they ran out of the panel they need, and could not stop the line so they had to push your unit out for delivery with a quick fix. in their mind the destination dealer would just have it changed later.
Weird, that humans aren't perfect and make mistakes. Wow. I can't believe that. How dare they.

Congratulations!!
Mine is being built next week. How long did you wait for after assembly?
Mine was in the build position on tracker for about a week then changed to shipped with end of month delivery dont know why it takes 3 weeks to deliver but after 8 months I can wait 3 more weeks I guess.

Hope I have the same luck! Mines being built 5/23 week. If I got mine middle or early June I’d be estatic
Mine is being built 5/23 also, so early to mid June would be tremendous!
