Recall Number: 26C10 TRAILER MODULE REPROGRAMMING

Updated last week while on a camping trip to ME. Hadn't had any issues towing. Got a notification screen earlier in the day saying that the truck may become unlocked during the update. I was awake around 2:00 am when the update installed and heard multiple relays clicking for a 10-to-15-minute period. Had to acknowledge that the update was complete before driving away in the morning.

Anyone have this completed? Just got a letter from my dealer stating they need the truck for a full day. Do they really need that much time for a program update?

Mine is done. No issues

My dealer (Serramonte Ford) did the work last week. It took an hour and I was shocked how quickly they finished. Said they topped off my fluids, too.

I work at a Ford dealership. They pay about .3 which is roughly 15 minutes. With write and paperwork average is 30 to 45 minutes.

Mine was done automatically. It worked.

edit Well I thought it worked. I’m getting “module failed“ message again.

Let us know if your highway mpg increases noticeably after the TMU update.
My 2025 hybrid's highway mpg appears to have increased after the update, but we also had a sudden and huge ambient temperature change in Wisconsin at the same time which makes comparisons questionable!

Got a letter that said I would receive another letter when the fix is ready.

I was more curious about the poster I quoted - getting an OTA on a 24MY.
I know it's going to take longer than 15 min.
Or even 45!

Good to know how long though, for like mobile service.
Sadly when it's brought in to dealership - that won't help with how long it may take there when in queue.

Ford Mobile Service is the only way to go (well, unless you have OTA). It's a hit nationwide, and they're expanding it, and it does not cost extra. If your dealer doesn't do it, you need a new dealer (I know that's not easy in some rural locations).

I haven't been to my dealership since I bought the truck. that's three years ago. They service it in my driveway at zero extra cost. And I get to chat with the tech and get the straight info with no service manager trying to upcharge or gaslight me.

Oh, I take that back. I had to get towed to the dealership for a rodent chewing through the wiring harness. Mobile service could not handle that (yet).

Don't bother. Made appt for this morning at 7AM for my 23. An hour later they called me to say these are all on hold as of a new bulletin today at noon.There is apparently a corollary issue with the software and they don't know the fix yet.

About an hour later they called and said they could not do it today because the last one took over 8 hours and I would have to leave the truck there overnight. I have another car but I'm not crazy about leaving my truck there even is it is inside.

Told them I would check back later and hopefully they have it figured out. I have no need to tow right now.

I have a 2023 ecoboost so I don't think I can do OTA.

That's ridiculous. Updating the TRM with FDRS takes 2 minutes.

Another thread reported what likely was the issue with that 8 hr one.

EB's were on hold because someone tagged the update as requiring a module only on the hybrids.

So the EB attempts were failing for the pre-25's.
Your dealer probably had that not-fun waste of time, and weren't about to touch another one, despite you having a hybrid - they didn't know, and after 8 hrs with likely Ford's help - still didn't know why, or the tech didn't share the end result.

ETA - bad info above - other update 26E04 was for PCM, more related to the parking pawl lack of engagement.
In that thread were comments if it was other side of trailer module update needed to complete it.
Maybe? Not the first time 2 modules needed to be updated in unison to fix an issue.
But TMU sounded like just communication error - so update is like, try again dummy.
