I think for your my24 xlt trim level the heated exterior mirrors was part of the optional luxury package in both EcoBoost/Hybrid versions of the truck
Yes it was, but I don’t have the dual zone heat/air.

It's a truck! Show me a factory defroster on a half ton from the big 3 manufacturer? I personally don't see a need for it. Like was already posted about using the mirrors, similar to when the back camera is covered with snow or ice.

I think most who wonder why no rear defroster it is possibly their first truck. Then again enough people wanting one, I'm sure Ford and other manufacturers will offer it, if they can make a few extra bucks. It depends on the demand.
Many of the F-150's I had came with the rear window defroster. One of the F-150's My brother had the rear window[defect] shattered when He had the defroster on

Was the defroster after market aka dealer installed? Also the deflector was that aftermarket? I honestly have never seen one on a lot.

Years ago 80 to 90s many cars were not ordered with rear defroster so the dealership could add a little profit to the sale. So I know that they can be added after the fact. Still I have never seen a electric rear defroster for the rear window of a truck. I guess that doesn't make it not possible just never seen it or the option in the window sticker.

No Maverick has ever offered a rear defrost. If I remember correctly, the 2022 manual errantly said it was included which it is not. The manual was later revised.

Why doesn't Ford offer a rear heated back glass on the Maverick? It would be nice to have to defrost the rear window and melt snow and ice. During a cold day with passengers in the back seat they steam up the rear window.
Bigger issue is no backglass rear window slider option on 26' for some reason

Good idea. I wonder why they don't offer a bigger rear window. That tiny hole isn't much good for anything. Although I have it on my maverick. I figured something is better than nothing for the price.

Nope the F-150's I had and the F-150's My Brother had were all that way they came off the assembly line like that with the rear window defroster and See post 29.

Yes there is. It's a $350 standalone add-on.

Same reason they do not offer self-dimming rear view mirror, built-in garage door or security gate remote buttons...etc.

You certainly can add one.

I have owned a lot of pickup trucks over the years including Nissan, Ford Sport trac, Rangers, Ford F-150s, my current Maverick along two F-350's, the past couple of years. Absolutely None of them have had a rear window defroster/defogger.
I've never even seen a pickup truck that had a rear window deicer. I have never really had a problem with ice or snow on the rear windows of my trucks, more of a fogging problem as the interior heats up and the snow melts off of boots etc.
I hope this helps.

Take Care and 🎄Happy Holidays🎄

I think this is a great after market modification. I'm all for anything that helps one see their surroundings better.

Same reason the Maverick doesn't include a Power passenger seat in any of they're trims. Keep the cost down for Ford to manufacture while driving the profit margin up.

Funny both my 2012 and 2016 F-150 XLT's had OEM rear defrosters and a power sliding rear window to boot.

Got in with wet jackets today and everything was fogging, including sides and back. so notched the heat up a tad and checked the screen clear vents were on. Now the side windows were fogged but have their own vent, but by the time that vent cleared the sides, the fog was gone on the back too... so obviously they have put a quantum trap on the side windows to entangle water molecules on the sides to the back, so they go away at the same time.... or some shit.

Anyway, seemed to e that by the time you turn enough blow on to deal with other fogging, the back goes too, so independent clearing does not appear all that necessary. IDK whether it's catching a loop over the top from the windshield flow, or rising warm air from the modules or what.
