No defroster will remove exterior snow buildup effectively. On an SUV, gravity will assist the defroster with the snow sliding off the rear window. On a truck, the bed rail/tonneau will negate any benefit of gravity. Get a good snow brush. I have several that extend 4'+ to reach all the way across so I can remove the snow quickly.

When the kids were still at home, we'd have 3-4 snow brushes in every vehicle. Their job was snow/ice removal. It builds character.

Here is one of my favorites:

I bought this just yesterday. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-6...4?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1102&from=/search
Never live in winter areas without a good brush/scraper

Wait, Mavericks do not have a rear window defogger? I have a Lariat delivery in 25 days. If it does not have a defogger it's staying at the dealership. That is really cheap on Ford's part in my opinion. I'm going to check the Lariat specs. A lack of a defogger is a safety issue.
The Maverick has never, at any trim level, had a rear defogger. For the 22 Lariat, Ford initially listed the rear defogger option but took it away just before production began August 2021.

Probably saved you $300.

I've had five pickup trucks prior to the Maverick; a Ford Courier, two Nissan Hardbodies and two Rangers. The most recent being 2001 Ranger. None of those vehicles offered a rear window defroster. I never even thought it was needed then and my Rangers saw a lot of winter weather. Today's society has such high expectations.

They really do.
That's why they can't make a vehicle at a reasonable price anymore.
They tried with the 2022 Maverick.
But since they kept adding things and adding things and adding things - Tremor, Lobo, AWD, Towing package - paying extra for a freaking paint color. So now, what even a base model with a few things is $30, 000 and most are getting the $40,000 truck.
Glad I got mine when I did.
There doesn't seem to be a market for bare bones - probably why I had to wait 1 year and 3 months for my bare bone version while I saw people getting their Lariots ordered after me, before me.
(My last vehicle was a 2001 Ranger also).
I hope this one lasts longer.

Further thought on this does make me realize that because the Maverick is a Supercab, the heat source is much further away from the rear window. I also recognize that the standard heater/defroster is probably not as oversized for the size of the cab as in those older models. I guess I can see the need.

Didn't they delete the formerly standard sliding rear window and keyless entry? Those were both functional items.

They did
I had the rear manual sliding window ordered on my 2023 - it was only $155 if you also got the Copilot 360 - go figure.
But even though I ordered it the first hour of the first day you could order a 2023, they would not build one for me until 2024 - so I didn't get it.
It turns out though that it really wasn't a functional item - it's so small it's ridiculous - and there is no way to access it from the front seats.
Looks like it would block your view too - I took out the rear seat headrests because they blocked my view too

🤔 Maybe we need to get a petition going to add those as mandated safety features.🤣
I shudder to think of the computer control they would put on the rear defroster (to prevent cheap glass from breaking), and the software updates required to make it work right because they either break or don't clear enough %.

"Ya, bought a new Maverick, but they can't release it from the lot because the rear defroster doesn't work, waiting for a recall software update"

Hmmm - fog lights, oh boy ambient temp, humidity, air pressure, ect.

The fun part is when your Maverick is an outside vehicle and you get hit with an ice storm, then the remote start feature doesn't work. Even after driving it an extra hundred miles the day before so the battery would be all charged up.
Mine allowed for 2 remote starts thru Fordpass without driving.
3rd one said no.

Used the 2 while scraping the ice off yesterday in prep for leaving today.
17 F during the scraping. 4 F this morning with some frost scraping required.
If I'd known, I could have done without the 2nd start yesterday.

Driving it an extra hundred miles to charge the battery. What the F?
I've had my Maverick for a year now. I've never had a problem with either battery - or even thought about them.

That is what the dealer suggested me to do, take it on a longer drive and that would charge up the battery. The app keeps sending me a message that the Remote Features are disabled to preserve battery. I was hoping to prevent that message from coming back up, thus took it for a much longer drive than I normally do in my daily driving. When this Deep Sleep mode kicks in, you don't even have a dome light that works till the key is turned on - and trying to find the key hole in the dark isn't fun either. Putting it on a trickle charger today to see if that helps, but I may just have a bad battery or the dealer needs to do something. From reading the threads on this, apparently it isn't an uncommon issue for many Maverick owners.

Yeah actually I've read that is a common problem I'm just never had it.
I have a hybrid if that makes a difference.
I've never experienced deep sleep mode or under charged battery I don't even think about it just lucky I guess.
I have had no problems with this vehicle after 1 year and 8,000 miles but then rethinking it I don't think I'm lucky, this should be expected.

LOL, 8K miles/yr. You drive about as much as I do. At that rate, the MAV should last 25 years.
