I like F100. Maybe I’m just old. LOL

I think there is an easy way to not dip into ranger/f150 sales. Keep the power down, fuel economy up, limit the off road capabilities/towing.

maybe 1 hybrid powertrain that can tow 5000 and gets 32ish mpg.
family ties would suggest the Ranger=F-100 and the Maverick=F-75????

I could see this as a mini tahoe - add 1/2 foot of legroom in the back seat and then have a 3.5 foot storage area in the back with a more square shape for maximum height...that would actually be pretty awesome as many SUV's just have so little room in the back for being a larger vehicle. Make it so the rear seats could be removed like the Honda Element and you have a 6.6 foot space so you could sleep in the back and I think you'd have a winner.
The functionality and practicality of the rear seats in the element has not been touched by anything other than a minivan. LOVED my Element and miss it dearly, that is I will until my Maverick arrives!

Maverick-ST & Maverick-Timberline are two I'd like to see.

I'll likely have created my own ST version before Ford offers one though :ROFLMAO:
This is also something I'm interested in doing.

If Ford did this, what other Maverick-brand vehicles would you want to see?
No brainers would be Bart, Beauregarde, Goose and Ice Man; although women may prefer Marla and Charley

At this point, how bout they get up to date on current orders and builds THEN they can worry about new vehicles.

Signed,

The guy who complains about people complaining about waiting for the truck they ordered way too early before production began.
Agreed!

At this point, people really need to stop pretending like supply chain shortages, freight back-ups, and labor shortages are up to Ford to solve. It is not an internal planning issue; it is a world wide manufacturing problem. They cannot, and should not stop planning the future of the Company to focus on a problem they cannot fix themselves.
Tru-dat, but IMHO that's not the issue. We all know about the supply issues. But Ford created a retail system that was not well-designed, and put it into play at the worst possible time. Due to supply issues this system has no viable means to assign or predict even a rough idea of when product would manifest for every buyer. They might better have waited until supply problems improved, so buyers could have at least a rough timeline of when their build would happen. For now It might have been better to use a system like Hyundai's. Allocate available vehicles to dealers and keep customers informed of whats coming, and give them a chance to compete for a vehicle that actually exists. Yes, we might all be competing for a relatively small number of prizes, but those prizes would actually exist. Hell, I'd rather be part of a dealer's lottery draw than a system that's cranking out fantasies and promises, with a delivery date that might be in the distant future. And dealers don't get a free ride here. I think they are part of the problem, not the solution. YES, Ford does share a large part of the blame!

How exactly were they supposed to 'guess' this would be the "worst possible time" to manufacture a vehicle? Is someone else doing it better?

Seems odd that they are thinking about adding another band. Why did they dump Mercury (the first car I ever rode in)?

General Motors did away with with Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Geo, Hummer, LaSalle and Saturn. I think I'm seeing a pattern...
How soon we forget, GM was broke and had to borrow money from the US Treasury to survive.

Ford Maverick SUV - 5 minute photoshop. Lengthened the rear doors (more legroom for rear seats). I like it, kind of like a 90's Pathfinder.

They could also remove the rear door, raise the roof and make a Ford Transit pretty easily but not sure if it makes sense to go that route.

Maybe it's just me, but this rendering looks kinda like a funeral hearse...

I've been puzzled with the whole "family" comment since Farley mentioned it months ago. Scrolling through the comments, I can see it making sense if they go down the special trims route (Tremor, Timberline, Raptor, etc.). So with that in mind, it would be nice to see stuff like this:
  • Maverick ST/ST-Line
  • Maverick Timberline
  • Maverick Limited (super deluxe issue with real leather and fancy fittings; kind of resurrecting the Eddie Bauer thing)
  • Maverick Pro/Pro Hybrid (a SuperCab version that replaces creature comforts with work/contractor amenities and resources; FWD only)
  • Maverick Splash (yearly limited edition with special colors, seats, and wheels; limit to 1,000)
