Finally saw my first Maverick in the wild! In Fuquay-Varina after lunch, AWD FX4 Cactus Gray.

I looked in my rear view mirror while waiting for a light and did a double-take, because immediately my eyes went to the upper grill and I recognized it and got real excited to see one.

It looked damn good, Cactus Gray looked even better in person than any picture I’ve seen. The size was perfect, looked like a sleek compact truck. Can’t wait for mine.

I’ve seen multiple Santa Cruz’s driving around, actually.

I’m trying really hard to not text my dealership to ask for the tracking info. I’m working on being very patient.

Hope no one is having delay/order issues.

My Lariat was shipped October 9 with estimated delivery November 9. I received an email from Ford on November 10 that changed the estimated delivery date to December 12. My dealer said the truck was in Norfolk but CSX said the rail car supposedly carrying the truck was empty and in Ohio. So I’m just going to wait it out. On the positive side, I have had no indication of a Stop Shipment order on the vehicle So maybe it is just waiting for someone to load it on a delivery truck. I hope there was nothing wrong with it that had to be fixed.

I don’t think the dates or locations mean very much. Crossroads can give you the rail car number and can tell you where the truck is located. Doesn’t help much. My Maverick was offloaded at the Poe car parking area just south of Petersburg VA last week. It is still sitting there and I have an expected delivery date of Dec 12. A little over 100 miles away. Might go out on a transporter any day. Or maybe not. Meet you in the bar.

One thing I noticed was that the email doesn’t say the delivery date has been pushed back and my tracker still shows 11/26, so…… I’m still stupidly hopeful.

Anyone know how many allocations crossroads ford of Apex gets?

My Mav was rail offloaded on 11/1 to the United Road Service logistic shipping lot just South of Petersburg too (not sure if the same as Poe) and hasn't moved. Ford sent me an email that now the scheduled dealer delivery is 12/15 - I was told by the United Road Service customer service rep that ALL Mavericks in this lot has been put on a Drop Ship Hold to Crossroads Ford and that is why the month long wait.

Sad, that we wait for Order confirmation, scheduling, production, shipping, track it's every move, only for the vehicle to get 2-hours away from the dealership and Ford stops everything and adds another month (or more) to the delivery.

NEVER will I do this again - buying a vehicle from a dealer lot is TEN TIMES better than this ordering crap.

Here is the lot where my Maverick sits awaiting final shipment.

Seems like the majority of posters have had a similar experience. Just my observation though.

I'm learning a lot about 'dealer allocations' these days. I have a feeling that this is not making Ford franchises happy either.
