Based on automotive news articles, it is looking more and more likely that the trucks at Poe and other lots around the country are awaiting chips. To keep the assembly line running as smoothly as possible, Ford sends chips first to production and if any are left, puts them in built vehicles sitting in remote lots. We could be waiting for a long time.
Where did you see this? I really hope that's not what's happening to the trucks at Poe. It might make me shift my attention towards something else if it keeps getting delayed and delayed.

This is my question too. I did a quick search for Maverick chip shortage issues and didn't find anything that was current. Do you have a link to anything about this?

According to United Road Services (operates the lot in Poe VA) the number of parked vehicles continues to increase. The chip shortage has not been alleviated.
To summarize for others, this article was from back in July, and it cited four different anonymous sources that Ford was considering delivering vehicles that are missing module(s) that are not readily available (but expected to be available relatively soon) due to the chip shortage.

Ford responded that they were still kicking the idea around at that time, but hadn't formally decided to ship nearly-complete vehicles as a strategy yet.

It seems reasonable that some months later we are seeing this play out. There is no other explanation I've seen so far for why so many vehicles (as reported on this forum) are sitting in lots next to their destinations, essentially.

The crappy part is that I still haven't seen any Mavs around here and dealerships only seem to be getting one or two at a time.

I hope there's no traction to the story.

If there is, I'll wait through the weekend to see if my delivery date gets pushed back again before reaching out to my dealer.

You can sign up to United Road Service OVISS and see all the vehicles shipped from POE to your dealer and see if anything is happening to your particular vehicle. You will probably have to sign up by cell phone, not pc or ipad But once signed up, anything will work. Anyway, Leith Wendell has received 4 Mavs since 10/4. The first two had vins ending in 03648 and 03904. The most recent VINs (10/30 shipment) ended 13195 and 14048. Extremely small sample, but the first two were assembled early and the last 2 were recent. Makes me wonder about the ones in between, like mine. (You can also get notified by URS when your truck ships.)

Absolutely it is.

And thank you! I"m so glad I picked that color.
Congrats @jcsan18!

I have seen a couple on the road so far, an iconic silver in Fuquay and a cactus gray in Holly Springs at my gym last night. These things are going to be everywhere. They also look great in any color.

Beautiful! I have a Lariat Hybrid with the same wheels currently 'In Production". I love the Area 51 with the Lariat's interior - Congratulations!
