My Ryobi is great. I plug my 4AH battery in it and can top off both vehicles several times before the battery drops even one bar of charge.
It’s fast, powerful and consistent with the digital pressure reading. But !
It consistently reads One psi higher than my trusted digital gage by Topeak.

OP,
I think it’s obvious you will have to beat the Ryobi. Dont forget many of us already have the batteries.
Remember, 12 VDC plug’ins suck, messing with the power cord is so 80’s.
And it needs to be better than the Ryobi if you plan to charge more than $40 shipping included.

I have a couple of Minketerss branded portable inflators from Amazon (one in my Maverick & the other in the Misses’ Jeep. The inflators come in a plastic case and can be powered by their internal battery or the truck’s 12 V socket and have a fair amount of accessories for inflating basketballs, etc.

Something would be cool that was specifically made to attach to the bed rails so it isn’t slipping around in the box.

My main complaint with several 12v plug in compressors I have had in the past is once they are used and then stored. The condensation or whatever causes them to freeze and not work after being stored

I do have one wireless and wired, and the features on getting a new model that could be improved are:
Run time - ability to fill multiple tires on a single charge
Volume - Having enough airflow to limit the time to fill up the tire
PSI setting shut off - Mine has that and it is a nice to have
Accuracy - Having the setting actually match the tire pressure
Price - Competitive for the value provided.

Where do you store them? I've not had any of them do that, but I store mine inside the cab out of the elements. Mine fits in the bag it came in behind the rear seat.

There are those in this thread that want to store them in the bed cubby, but storing something electrical (or electro-mechanical) in there to me seems like a sure way to shorten its life.

Too big and I hate those screw on fittings,
So much air wasted when your screwing your ass off.

It comes with a clip-on adapter. And when you are airing up 35" tires (my Bronco), you will appreciate it being "too big"...

I made the mistake once of inflating all my tires once off my car's power thinking that it wouldn't matter, especially since there was a large hybrid battery in the car. I had to charge my car's battery to get it to start.
