Ok,so every 3000 miles to some people is way to soon.one problem though🤨ive been servicing my cars since early 60,s and oil gets changed every 3000 miles and thats not changing😎just want to know how to keep the light from coming back on!
I agree with you on this. I go to 4000 miles myself. At 3 to 4000 miles you can really smell fuel in the oil in the ecoboost engine oil. I don't trust diluted oil. I am happy to spend a little extra time and money to keep fresh Restore and Protect Valvoline in there.

Psst I did ran mine down to 9 miles and put 13.6 gallons in it, I just wanted to know... LOL
At least every other week I hit zero miles to empty and drive miles to the station. Always have about a Gallon left.
I mainly to it cause it stresses out my best friend if it goes below 25 so I do it for my own entertainment. Lol

I have a serious question. Did you also rotate the tires at that 1 year mark? I understand the 1 year oil change but every 3000 miles because it is MORE preventative than the factory recommended interval makes no since. If 3000 miles prevents engine failure more why not do it every 1000? And rotate the tires every 3000 also.
No. Fluid changes have recommended miles AND time intervals. The old wisdom was 3000 miles/6 months or maybe even 3 months. So I'm actually doing it much sooner than the old ways in recognition of synthetic oils. There is nothing time based about tires wearing unevenly.

the oil life percentage is just a countdown to either 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.
That's not true. As I said, I went 1 year 1500 miles and the OLM monitor was around 45%. The logic is more complicated than what you think. It's on a pace right now having only been in winter to run out much sooner than that.

No. Your recollection is wrong, or it was reset. It will absolutely reach 0% at 1 year. Also, Ford specifically says that the maximum interval for an oil change regardless of mileage is 1 year.

It just goes to show that the OLM is just a trip counter and really has nothing to do with the status of the the oil.
ehhh - been enough posts to prove it's doing more than flat mileage or date calcs.
For both EB and hybrid.

While it may not be oil quality testing (because 1 EB owner the oil test showed it had another 2k available at 10k miles it was done), they are using other info to estimate and play it safe.

I owned a Subaru that had a funky-shaped gas tank because it had a hump in the center for driveshaft clearance. It definitely could have fuel starvation before zero miles indicated on the computer if you made a hard turn or parked on unlevel ground.
That's pretty good instead of the up or down incline. Could the correct turn actually slosh the fuel over to the correct side and stay there for use?

(tilde) (sorry limited keyboard) Do I detect a real disagreement here about the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor?
It's a cazoo difficult on my android. It is found by pressing the =\ key on the left end of symbol string line on the numeric keyboard where sq root, etc are.
