My first oil change on my 24 was at 9300...showing 38% oil life left. I'm guessing that's because of the electric mode time vs. the ICE. The truck will never know the difference....unless someone tells him....LOL. I will change the next time at 7500. This thing is a little tank. 3000 mile oil changes are a bit overkill in 2025...but I know it's hard to step outside that box for you geezers. OK...I'm going to ask my kid something about my Iphone.......:p:p:p

The Tesla phone is almost out.
$200,
Uses satellites,
Won’t need to pay for LTE or 5G anymore.
I think I read the monthly service fees were under $50 for everything.
Supposedly super simple and it’s A.I. will help you with all your questions.
It should end the strangle hold Apple IPhones and Android phones have on us.
I wish Ford would let Elons people fix all our Mavrick software issues.
Like battery drain issues and no way to permanently turn off stuff.

I would never tell someone their oil change schedule is wrong. None of my business in the way they run their business. Not my money. Not my worry. I have enough trouble taking care of myself at 76 years of age.
100% agree! Change your oil when you want. I do every 5000 miles, and I order in bulk on RockAuto for both my cars so oil changes are like $35 in supplies each time. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

just want to know how to keep the light from coming back on!
To reset the light, press the "hamburger" three line button on the right side of the steering wheel. Then follow this path: Settings >> Vehicle >> Oil >> Hold "OK" button to reset. This will reset the oil life monitor, also shutting off the light. Make sure to reset the monitor after each oil change.

I drive about 3500 miles a year. The Oil Life Monitor will go to zero at around the 1 year anniversary of my oil change. Obviously my oil change schedule is calendar driven not miles driven.

Those that say 3000 miles is too soon always fail to mention that it is too soon for them, not necessarily too soon for some of us. Some of us old timers still believe that even at today's inflated costs, oil changes are the cheapest preventative maintenance one can do to their vehicle. We tend to be funny like that.

You should one time get your oil tested. See if one year actually breaks down the oil or not. That’s the only true way to know. I agree changing oil early isn’t a bad thing but if he’s changing it every 3 k he is more than likely not saving any money long term.

At 74 years of age long term means alot less than it used to🤪

Ok,so every 3000 miles to some people is way to soon.one problem though🤨ive been servicing my cars since early 60,s and oil gets changed every 3000 miles and thats not changing😎just want to know how to keep the light from coming back on!
Not a thing wrong with that. It's your vehicle and your right to service it as you please, whether is too early or too late in other peoples opinions. I have mine done every 5K regardless, don't care what others opinions are. As others have stated, the oil monitor just needs to be reset each time the oil is changed, a simple process once you locate it in the menu with the steering wheel controls

So,why after 15,000 miles does a light come on to tell me oil needs changing!i change it every 3,000 miles!
It just goes to show that the OLM is just a trip counter and really has nothing to do with the status of the the oil.

There's a lot of nope from me throughout all of that. New high score levels of nope, tbh. Well done.

Not really, when you change oil that few miles, it's more like a time counter. Even though it monitors the kind of use that oil had, in those few miles, it's really just a time interval. Even then, it may only actually be needed because those miles were usually short trips.

I concluded this several years ago, but some persist in arguing that there is really some kind of consideration for load, idling, or possibly even a sensor of some sort directly measuring some metric(s) of the oil to determine quality.

there is not.

the oil life percentage is just a countdown to either 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. it will use miles for the life until you're somewhere inside of 6 months remaining *and* the mileage trend will put the 10k miles farther into the future than 12 months since last reset. (which, obviously, should be the last change.)

you start getting emails and reminders in Fordpass when you're about 30-45 days from a year. my wife drives well under 10k a year so I've seen this twice already on her Bronco.

Yeah? Is that new information to you? It is a software algorithm that calculates oil life based on driving conditions and miles or time. No built in sensor to test quality although I'm sure if there was an aftermarket demand someone would make one. I used to install million dollar + molding machinery that with a touch screen controller that cost $26,000 it would tell you when the hydraulic oil filter needed replaced and the hydraulic oil needed replaced. The filter was a simple flow sensor that would signal the controller when flow through it dropped 10%. The oil replacement alarm was based on the hours the motors ran and not sampling of the oil. I always told customers to test the oil every 6 months and replace based on an independent lab not a software generated alarm. The hydraulic oil that was used is over $10/gallon and these machines used from 300 to 1000 gallons so changing based on the controller is expensive.
No, it is not new to me, but some think it is more complicated than a trip/cycle counter.

Sorry I missed the sarcasm in your original post 😳. I had someone tell me they couldn't possibly have ran out of gas because the miles to empty still showed 10. I guess looking at the gauge is to hard for them.
Psst I did ran mine down to 9 miles and put 13.6 gallons in it, I just wanted to know... LOL

I owned a Subaru that had a funky-shaped gas tank because it had a hump in the center for driveshaft clearance. It definitely could have fuel starvation before zero miles indicated on the computer if you made a hard turn or parked on unlevel ground.

EXACTLY !!!! But many have it in their heads there's "science", "advanced capabilities" BS to it.
