Not as popular as we thought?

While we're at it, it's just an inexpensive, practical vehicle. I'm not sure how much excitement people expected it to generate. It's not going to draw attention like the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile! :)

I've had my FX4 Ecoboost XLT since November. I've been surprised that during that time I've only had one person come up and talk to me about the truck. I don't live in a small town at all and I've been surprised by this. Ford has obviously sold of ton of these but perhaps the Midwest isn't the hotspot for Mavericks I thought it would be.
Maverick is a better truck for me because I rarely used the truck bed of my real truck and I do not want to pay a lot for gas. For other people who need a real truck, they will not understand why people are buying a little truck. When I was driving a hybrid, I could tell by the look in their eyes. Some even asked me what I could do with the little truck. Not much I said but it was enough for me.

It looks so much like the F150, people aren't aware of what it really is.

They have been on the ground for a year and a half now, not all that new anymore. When I first got mine in January of 2022 (over a year ago) people were all over it. I had to avoid people wanting to chatter if I had someplace to get to - which I usually do. The newness has worn off.

I firmly believe that if Ford could actually produce enough of them and actually tried to market them this would be the number one selling vehicle in America easily.
There is no question about that. The first manufacturer that figures out how to mass produce a low cost small truck to meet demand will control the market.

I've recently taken it to several 'Cars&Coffee' here in SoCal instead one of my Porsche's, I was curious as to the reaction. I was surprised as to how many folks (car people) who've never heard of it let alone seen one.

They always ask what is it, how much, and how do I get one...

As for bragging about its ability a car shows(I dont know about this coffee obsession people do nowadays), if you look in this last issue of MotorTrend, the one with the Eray on the cover, there is a 1 page Tremor review with testing data. In the sidebar there is a "what we featured in 1973" article. In 1973 the Detasamo Pantera was a half a second slower the Maverick Tremor to 60 mph!

I go biking in my old neighborhood early Sunday mornings. There’s an exact replica of my ordered Mav; I keep waiting to see the person who owns it to strike up a conversation but no luck so far. They also have 2 newer 911s in the yard, so I’m guessing their Mav is their Home Depot vehicle.

Yeah, maybe. I didn't mean it to seem that harsh.
Right. I think it was the "hotspot" wording that kinda threw me off too. I do agree with the OP actually, I have been surprised. Zero "hey mans" in the first 2 months. I bought a fat bike last year and I ride the hell out of it. Lots of people want to comment about those "HUGE TIRES!" and it can get annoying at times. When I go barefoot in public I get frequent questions. That one definitely got annoying. I thought having a Mav. might be similar.

I actually spec'd out Oxford White partly to avoid extra attention. It's working. In my neighborhood, you don't want to look like a mark. Meanwhile, the Hot Pepper Red Guy is hosting bubbly Q&A sessions as he goes about his day. Might even get the hotwife's number...

After my time on motorcycles, I was about sick of dudes (always dudes) coming up to talk about that bike they had, etc. I probably give off negative vibes that keep people away.

I’ve only approached and struck up a conversation with one gentleman who was in his Shadow Black Maverick as I was picking up a DoorDash order. I hadn’t seen one around yet, and mine was en route on the train. Oddly enough it turns out he worked/works with my uncle! We ended up chatting for a bit after that was found out. Small world. (The DoorDash order was a personal one so I wasn’t holding up delivery of a customer’s food - in case anyone thought it was a delivery order.)

As far as people asking me about mine, there’s been a few people here and there asking me about it. Some in passing, some actually stopping and actually asking questions intently and showing genuine interest.

Iv had the come up ask about it at Garage sales Church, Even the HEB parking lot. I have let them sit in it start it and drive it. Even up to the point where I sold it. I will bet I have sold at least Six Mav Hybrids. I reffered all of them to Planet 635 Ford in Tx. With Five confirmed POs. I would tell them about the MPG not one belived it. But after a 6 to 10 mile drive Cross roads to Athens. They Ordered them. Avg Mpg was around 41. One Young man wanted to floor it. I let him. Man I should get a commission. But Now I am back in the holding Pattern for a 23 White Hybrid.

I notice a lot of other drivers looking at it. I do see a lot on the roads. The thing is it looks like most trucks. I don't realize it's a Maverick until it's close. Had another Maverick driver wave as I passed them the other day. I usually wave at other Mavericks.

In the 8 months I've had it, no one has said anything...which is fine with me.
