I've had my FX4 Ecoboost XLT since November. I've been surprised that during that time I've only had one person come up and talk to me about the truck. I don't live in a small town at all and I've been surprised by this. Ford has obviously sold of ton of these but perhaps the Midwest isn't the hotspot for Mavericks I thought it would be.

One of the odd things is that since Ford did not have to do any advertising, yet the Maverick oversold in 5 days, there are still a LOT of folks out in the real world who have never heard of a Maverick.
Just like my C-Max. Even the Ford service department manager here had never heard of the C-Max until I moved here and brought it in for service.

Are you that desperate that you need people coming up to you to discuss your truck? Also just because people like a car or truck doesn't mean they want to discuss it with the owner. I've seen a few Maverick's in the wild and I'm obviously very interested in them but I never approached an owner of one in the instances that I've seen one.

There's really only one tried and true metric that will determine how popular a current vehicle is and that's total sales. Maverick sales have already exceeded Ford's expectations, I'm sure you've noticed that they haven't been able to keep up with the demand.

I drive for Uber and Lyft and 99% of my customers love the truck. The first thing they say is wow nice truck. Then they say something like man it's roomy inside. Then they generally say I didn't know f-150s are so nice 😂 the fact is is that no one other than us even knows what a Maverick is. Most people are looking for a car when they're trying to find me in the parking lot and none of them understand what a hybrid is more or less that it is a hybrid. They want to know how long it takes to charge and what I plug it into LOL

The one thing that is for sure is that when they find out that I only paid 24,000 they all want to run down to the dealer and buy one.

I firmly believe that if Ford could actually produce enough of them and actually tried to market them this would be the number one selling vehicle in America easily.

I have had my Hybrid Lariat for a year now and about 5-10 people on the street have gone out of their way to ask me about the truck. Who knows, maybe only people looking for a small truck or vehicle enthusiasts are really aware of the Maverick.

Part of it may be a generational change. Before the internet and cell phones it was pretty common to chat with a random stranger about their car, is it going to rain, where to eat, directions, etc. Now if someone was interested in your Maverick they will likely just Google it.

I've had conversations about the Maverick, both in person and online. It always becomes awkward, when you gush about the truck's positives, and then it inevitably results in you having to tell the person that they can't just go buy one; can't even just go order one; and it took me 491 days to get mine and I was being VERY careful to make sure it all happened properly.

The result is always a WTF? Why did you tell me all these positive things and then tell me there is no way for me to get one???

Sold my Mustang GT convertible because I was sick of people looking at me and trying to race. How I didn't think of that when I bought it... Idk.
