Sold my Mustang GT convertible because I was sick of people looking at me and trying to race. How I didn't think of that when I bought it... Idk.
And when you build it to race no one wants to. JK, plenty of Mazda 6 and Altimas try. Why waste the time.

Why would I ever want to talk to anyone, Maverick or not? :)
And why, exactly, are you here - on a Maverick "discussion" forum, where people "talk" to each other? Just kidding - I kind of get what you're saying. My wife is super-inhibited, and doesn't like to talk to people she doesn't know. My mother would carry on a 20-minute conversation with a stranger on a 15-minute train ride. I'm somewhere in the middle of those two!

Oh man I havent been able to go anywhere without someone asking about my Mav. I even had a LAPD officer pull up beside me at a stop light last week and asked me how I liked it.
Honestly, Ford should cut me off some of that advertisement money because I've probably sold more Mavericks than they have.

As for bragging about its ability a car shows(I dont know about this coffee obsession people do nowadays), if you look in this last issue of MotorTrend, the one with the Eray on the cover, there is a 1 page Tremor review with testing data. In the sidebar there is a "what we featured in 1973" article. In 1973 the Detasamo Pantera was a half a second slower the Maverick Tremor to 60 mph!
No one's bragging about its ability, people stop and ask questions. It's LA, lots of car hobbyists

This 'coffee obsession' as you refer to it is a great time in the early morning to meet other auto enthusiasts with similar interests, learn about others cars, then go on with your day. You might try it some time...

Maverick is a better truck for me because I rarely used the truck bed of my real truck and I do not want to pay a lot for gas. For other people who need a real truck, they will not understand why people are buying a little truck. When I was driving a hybrid, I could tell by the look in their eyes. Some even asked me what I could do with the little truck. Not much I said but it was enough for me.
When someone asks me "What can you do with the little truck?", I generally say I can do pretty much everything you would actually do with your F-150. I tell them that so far, I've used my truck to move firewood, brush from last winter's freeze damage,, furniture (multiple times), appliances, garden soil, mulch, bags of rock, and paving stones. To date, I've never had to make two trips or rent a larger truck. The carrying capacity of the Maverick is more than adequate for my needs. The "real truck" folks are usually surprised to learn that the payload is over 1500 lbs on this "little" truck... I've even had one ask me to show them the door sticker to back up my statement. I asked him what his was. He had no idea, so we looked together, and it was around 1685 lbs. When I pointed out that my 185-pound lower payload came along with getting about 25 mpg more than the full-size truck (42 mpg vs 17 mpg in town), he got real thoughtful...

Of course, a couple of years ago, I was using a C-2500 HD Diesel to tow a 34-foot Fifth-wheel camper. That scenario is definitely out of the question for the Maverick. Horses for corses...

I've had my FX4 Ecoboost XLT since November. I've been surprised that during that time I've only had one person come up and talk to me about the truck. I don't live in a small town at all and I've been surprised by this. Ford has obviously sold of ton of these but perhaps the Midwest isn't the hotspot for Mavericks I thought it would be.
OP: Why doesn't anyone want to talk to me about my nice, new truck?!

Also OP:

:ROFLMAO: all love and just chain pulling!

I will say that several months ago I saw an Area 51 XLT in the wild at a McDonald's parking lot, so I pulled up next to it while I waited for my curbside order. When the owner came out he saw me eyeballing his ride so I told him "nice truck" and he immediately perked up and conversed for a couple minutes. I was driving my wife's brand new Bolt EUV at the time so we had a mutual appreciation society where we asked each other a half-dozen questions about our respective vehicles. So it still happens to some extent.

Maybe hang out in a Lowe's parking lot on a nice weather weekend with a sign in the back that says "ask me about my truck!" :ROFLMAO:

One of the odd things is that since Ford did not have to do any advertising, yet the Maverick oversold in 5 days, there are still a LOT of folks out in the real world who have never heard of a Maverick.
Just like my C-Max. Even the Ford service department manager here had never heard of the C-Max until I moved here and brought it in for service.
C-Max, is that a battery? LOL

I honestly thought the same thing, that when someone saw the Maverick and didn't know what it was they would ask. I guess our excitement about the truck doesn't translate to some stranger that hasn't heard of it and doesn't even care about a small truck that gets great gas mileage.

I have only had 1 person (a co-worker) in my 10 months of ownership ask about it and that was only because they had considered buying one.

In nine months of ownership, I had one person ask me about my Maverick. Which is one more than ever asked me about my other pickup trucks.

**Gazes at my C-Max in the parking lot**
I feel personally attacked! :ROFLMAO:
I love my 2017 C-Max Titanium and am not getting rid of it. Carvana has gone from offering $18,098 on 2/5/23 to $19,538 on 3/31/23. Its value is going up faster than the stock market! 🤣

Unfortunately my 2013 C-Max SEL (Titanium not offered initially) is at 150k miles and my hand might be forced sooner than later while I wait for my Maverick (... or maybe a 2024 Ranger...).

I do love my C-Max, though. She's been a great car.

Sorry to me talking about cars is bragging about cars. Its generally about 97% of the vebal comunication I do in the world.

And yeah I always just went to car shows, never drank any coffee before. Just confused by that part of it.

It is amazing that the Maverick is as fast a such and rare exotic lusted after car that its name just sounds fast.
