Shadow Black Mavericks not popular?

i was torn between shadow black and carbon grey. Carbon grey just looked so different from photo to photo that I didnt feel confident with it. So went with black.

Ive accepted the fact that its just simply going to be dirty lol. Im not going to be washing it every week. At most ill give it a hose down every so often.

Same reason I didn’t chose carbon gray. It looks so different in every photo and the dealer showed me carbon gray on an f150 and it looked completely different than I expected. With black, you know what to expect.
In my opinion black looks really good on vehicles that have a lot of chrome details but the Maverick doesn't have much of that. It's the same reason why I'm not a big fan of Alto blue even though it's a nice color

Owned one Black vehicle. Not only was a lot of work to keep clean, seemed like a part time job.

Between the Arizona Sun, dirt, and the fact I don’t clean my cars; black isn’t an option. Grays could have won but seem a bit dull. Area 51 is a bit baby blue. Cactus gray wins 10x over for me. I almost picked up the Alto Blue but realized it was a $400 black option. I do like the look of a nice clean Maverick in any color.

Black also is an issue with a sunny day. Will heat up faster than any other color and you do lose some gas/power running the ac to cool down. Especially making frequent stops during the day.

Not to mention all the complaints noted about dirt.

Why you see so many white pickups in Texas. The heat and the dirt. White vehicles never really look dirty until you run your finger across them.

In the end is personal preference but most preferences are a result of lived experiences.

I have two cars I have bought new in my driveway- lowest mileage on both is 125K. I have never washed either of them. Black was not a choice for us lol

Only other maverick I've seen was a shadow black one and my eyes just passed over it so much. Kinda doesn't look like a maverick.

love my Shadow Black Mav and found the perfect wheels to go on it! glad to hear it's not a popular color choice. i most often see Area51's. if i didn't go black i would have chosen Carbon Grey

Just a pain in the butt to keep clean. It looks fantastic when shiny and waxed but shows dirt and debris more than any other color.

Correct, nice when clean, but a pain when dirty. Never looks as good as when waxed.

In the end I think black will be among the top 4 popular colours offered on the Mav just because black tends to be a consistently popular car colour.

I think sales will; line up: A51, Cactus Grey, the bright blue, and then shadow black

The generic black and white look like rental fleet vehicles. They look cheap and boring. I would have gone with the Alto Blue if I knew what the Cactus Gray would wind up looking like, but I like the Cactus Gray more than I thought. Alto Blue would have been better.

If you look at the stats, the most mavericks ordered are in the hottest states, Cali,Florida,Texas. Like other posters from those states replied. Hot as hell with a black vehicle.

BTW the birds love to crap on my A51 here in Ohio!

I had a Black CJ-7 years ago and it was By Far, the hardest color to have. Pain in the A** to keep clean, the reflections during the summer was terrible, and the black color raised the overall vehicle temperature by 20 deg., and therefore I had to run the AC on high the whole time while driving - my wife laid her arm on the hood one summer day and received 3rd deg burns.

The two colors on the Maverick that I would NEVER order is Black and Alto (Black) Blue!!!

I got the CGM and its great!
