I think I've had 2 people kinda chase me down to talk about it a bit. But where it usually comes up the most is if I'm at a vehicle-related business and we get talking about it.

I see around 3-6 mavericks on the road every week so the novelty has probably worn off.

I'd say the lack of contact you've had with any inquisitive people stems more from the fact they just didn't plan for the trucks off-the-wall success. I've been waiting 7 months for mine and am only 3 weeks away from a build. They just can't produce them fast enough.

I've had my FX4 Ecoboost XLT since November. I've been surprised that during that time I've only had one person come up and talk to me about the truck. I don't live in a small town at all and I've been surprised by this. Ford has obviously sold of ton of these but perhaps the Midwest isn't the hotspot for Mavericks I thought it would be.
My order went in the day after the order bank open in Sep, and I didn't take delivery until late Feb. When I arrived at the dealership, there was a circle of people around my new truck. One of the salesmen said it was the first Tremor they had gotten in so far, and the interest was high. I said I'd allow test drives around the block for $100., but there were no takers. I've gotten a couple of thumbs up, but no one wanting a conversation. Of course, I purchased it for my needs, not because I thought others would approve.

Drove a kei truck while waiting... if you want a conversation starter get one of those. No joke 50-75% of people who see it want to ask you questions about it. In one year of occasional driving, must have had 50 people ask about it. So far maybe 3 or 4 people mentioned the Maverick to me. Had a couple wave at me stopped at a red and give me a big thumbs up yesterday... assume it was for the truck but not positive. As others have mentioned... most people never heard of it. When I tell people I got a new vehicle, it's a Maverick... almost everyone asks what that is.

One of my neighbors asked me about it in passing when I first got it, but that's it. But I also work from home and do most of my shopping early in the morning, so if I'm out in the world 99% of the time not many other folks are. 😆

I'm in the Boston area and I've only had mine about 2 months but I've had a bunch of people stop me to talk about it. Most are intrigued by the fact that it's a hybrid pickup though, I suspect less attention for the FX4.

Are you that desperate that you need people coming up to you to discuss your truck?
c'mon man... save that tone for the Ford Maverick FaceBook Group.... we try to play it a little nicer here on the forums.

I've now gawked at a total of 6 Mavericks, walking all around them and asking questions:
Alto Blue Hybrid XLT and Cyber Orange AWD XLT in Green Valley AZ USA. White Hybrid XL in Tucson AZ USA. Hot Pepper Red Lariat AWD and White Lariat AWD in Álamos Sonora Mex. A Cactus Lariat AWD at a dealership, after hours, in Navojoa Sonora Mex.

Note: I would have returned to snatch up the Cactus Lariat AWD, but Mexican Mavericks do not offer the 4K Tow package. A deal breaker for me.

I'm in central MA and have had mine since October 2021, but no one has really asked about it unless it's someone I already know.

I'm finding when I tell people I bought a ford maverick, they say, what is that? Most never heard of it. Some say, oh, didn't know they brought the Maverick back. BTW, I'm still waiting on my order of an FX4 AWD. Someday soon LOL

I’ve had my beautiful and fun Maverick since mid-February and I’ve had three people stop me to ask about it. One guy knew what it was and asked how long it took to get it (472 days); another guy at a stop sign (he was on foot) and another guy who I heard from across the parking lot reading out loud the name on the tailgate (Mav-er-ick…now what is that!?). They all were super interested in it.

I love talking Maverick and answering their questions. My youngest daughter has been with me for two of them and she remarked to my wife that “he loves when people ask him about his truck”! 😆

You’re gonna love it. I’m visiting Helen, GA right now and our rental cabin is down a dirt, rut road and then up an incline of 19 degrees and then an articulation of 17 degrees! No problem for FX4! I’ve never had a reason to use it yet so any excuse is a good excuse 👍

Hang in there!

With a single exception, the main reaction I get to my Maverick here in WNC (where Mavericks are common) is that nobody notices it (because it was conventionally styled so as not to offend). And if they do notice it they frankly don't give a rat's ass. The second most common reaction is a snicker as they ask "so how do you like your new "truck" (insert snicker here)". Which is cool with me because I'm in on the joke.

I'm under no illusions of what it is. The Maverick is a stretched Escape with the hatch replaced with an open bed, and I'm cool with that. It's cheap by current standards, disposable, and frankly unremarkable as a vehicle aside from the relatively low cost in the "truck" space.

Notice it, don't notice it, whatever. To me it's an unexciting appliance. If you notice it, or if you're waiting on one and ask me about it, I'll politely give you a list of both positives and negatives - because it has both.

Just my personal take and no offense intended to the many very nice members here who deeply love their Mavericks.

Why would I ever want to talk to anyone, Maverick or not? :)
I love to talk with people. I have walked up to several Maverick owners to ask how they like their truck. I find they are proud owners and glad to share.

Well, I did clarify that I didn't mean it as it sounded. But I still could have used my words more carefully.

I'm in the midwest - had it for 5 months and 4 people approached me and asked abou it - one of them has one on order; everyone who i have driven around thinks it's great and are amazed at the out the door price i paid - under 22k.
