Build date on that Lariat- Everything I have seen is that the temp/dial went offline after 5/6 builds-
Not hard and fast, apparently. My XL started and completed build on 5/11 but does have the knob with temperature setting on it. Only one, because no dual climate control in the XL so the other is just a plain knob.

This does seem awfully knit picky to me. Even a Lariat is incredibly inexpensive compared to the rest of the marketplace. However, those who object to knob substitution can just tell Ford that they won't accept the delivery, get their deposit back, and buy a Santa Cruz instead, no? Complaining in this forum is darned ineffective. Take your objections up with Ford, folks.

I strongly suspect that the reason I have a truck is that my specification was much less demanding in terms of materials and parts. My primary goal was to get a hybrid vehicle without emptying my savings. In the end I got quite a lot more than that, so I'm not complaining.

i am very happy for you. My problem is with FORD. My order date was 6/10 and no matter what I ordered I should have one by now. Many later orders just like mine have been delivered nada for me. Again, I am very happy for you.

I thought the knob without the temp# would bug me more. A week in, it doesn't bug me much. Note all of my prior daily drivers for the last decade *have* had visible-at-rest temp readouts, but honestly, I've always thought they were somewhat meaningless. 70° was not always 70° in any of the vehicles...

The thread that I used was "How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT", do a search on that. I didn't want to do a how to since it would mostly be a rehash of what they already posted. Basically you are just swapping out the APIM module, the important thing is you will need a Ford Sync 3 Gen 4. It is important to only get this version with NAV. Here is a link on eBay:

Unless you have a Forscan that you can program the module make sure you buy it from a vendor who will program your VIN, module has to have your VIN. Other than that it's just a matter of swapping the APIM. You can access it by pulling off the temp controls, you will see that in the "How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT" thread. There isn't much room to work for disconnecting the cables, I found that disconnecting large connector first allowed me to move the module around to get to the other cables.

That's all you have to do, swap the APIM with one that has nav. I really was pointing to the How To: Sync3/4 swap thread because it has some pictures and talks about how to access the APIM.

The hardest part is getting to the APIM but once you do it's all plug and play.

They will tell you that regardless of the time frame you “demand” anything about this. You can’t demand they rectify something that was done intentionally by Ford.

Anyone know if the dial (not the whole module) is replaceable? There are a handful of bronco sport AC/Heat controllers on eBay, but they don't have all the buttons I need.

I also can't find a Maverick parts manual to search the correct 2021 Maverick part.

Unless you're willing to try more than one time to get the feature installed and working, I suspect you'll need a dealer involved to get it right. Is that knob really such a big deal? I guess I don't get it at all. To me it's a "set it and forget it" thing.

Again, it does NOT show the ambient temperature, either inside or out. Just the thermostat setting, which also appears on the 8 inch console screen when you are changing it. During adjustment, the value being set DOES appear in the middle of the screen, even with Android Auto active. The continuous temperature readout on the console (next to the time on mine, perhaps in left and right corners if you have dual climate control) is not visible when some AA apps are active, but that reading is the outside temperature anyway, NOT the thermostat setting NOR the inside temperature.

I did as well! After test driving 3 Mav’s that had this feature I was determined to get it in ours! Added a set of knob rings today for the final touch! Now I just need to get my dealer to reimburse me as promised!!!

I hearing that Ford has removed the temp display from the dial. Now the dial only shows a picture of a thermometer. Is any of this true? I’m also being told that it was a way to save on chips. I guess it still shows up the temp on the radio display. Does anyone know what build date this started. Not a big deal just curious.
I ordered my AWD FX4, Copilot 360, Equipment group 300A, Hot pepper Red, without Luxury package in November 2021. Got the MAV in February 2022. The right side Temp dial DOES have the Temp., display read out.
