'22 hybrid XL, delivered June 1, 2022, currently has about 2500 miles. No actual problems other than the recalls. Have had the deep sleep message many times but it never fails to start. Gas mileage is great, in the 45 to 50 mpg range mostly.
No critical issues, but I only have about 3000 miles on it. Some of the recall issues were worrisome enough to keep it idle until they were fixed, though.
2022 Hybrid XL, took delivery a year ago.
No problems yet other than many "deep sleep" messages that I ignored because it has always started anyway. When it went in for the air bag recall, I asked them to look at the deep sleep thing. They ended up replacing the 12V battery and the message has...
Thanks. You've got it, I think. In the vehicle menu, oil life still showed 13% and that let me reset it to 100% Fordpass still shows 13 but I assume it will catch up whenever it checks the vehicle status again.
The service tech may have actually reset it but before the battery was swapped out...
For the present, the battery replacement does seem to have made the warning message go away. I'm not entirely convinced that is the real cause though. There was a lot of discussion in the past about a wiring harness solder joint that was defective in many Mavericks, but eventually that was...
OK, so my '22 Maverick went to the dealer on Wednesday for an oil change and associated services. I also complained about constant "Deep sleep" warnings that didn't seem to be valid because the truck continues to start immediately without difficulty and runs well.
They did the oil change stuff...
Yeah, that's old news now. Check the date on my post. 😋
What I haven't seen is Ford's reaction to those do it yourself instructions. You know, like, "This voids your warranty." But I also see that for 2023 models the XL did get cruise control.
For what it's worth, I have a 2022 XL, no cruise...
Yes, it has been a long time from "on order" to "in production" for most I believe. Mine took nine months. But the original question was the length of time from "in production" status to shipment, which is a different matter.
It's complicated. Of course, you are right. But the immediate impact of CO2 emissions and fossil fuel looks far more urgent to me than the matter of batteries, which are improving and developing fast now. The battery in this hybrid could well outlast my lifetime. I'd rather reduce my carbon...
Who needs a hybrid? Anyone who wants a quieter ride and less ecological impact. My hybrid regularly exceeds 51 mpg during ordinary mixed driving and that's 99% of what I do. Overall calculated fuel efficiency so far is about 46 mpg, but in light traffic on rural paved roads (I live far out of...
I believe the upgraded sound system available on the Lariat includes Sirius XM capability. All Mavs can use XM though. You have to install the app on a smartphone and connect the phone to the truck by both bluetooth and USB cable. Android Auto or Apple Carplay then can display the phone app on...
Well, I am 72 but my hearing is good and I'm an active musician going back about 60 years. As stock automotive sound systems go, I find the system in my XL better than average. Sure, it could be improved, but I don't see the point when faced with traffic noise and horrendous (non)mufflers all...
Unless you're willing to try more than one time to get the feature installed and working, I suspect you'll need a dealer involved to get it right. Is that knob really such a big deal? I guess I don't get it at all. To me it's a "set it and forget it" thing.
Again, it does NOT show the ambient...
I strongly suspect that the reason I have a truck is that my specification was much less demanding in terms of materials and parts. My primary goal was to get a hybrid vehicle without emptying my savings. In the end I got quite a lot more than that, so I'm not complaining.
Not, I think, when you just turn it on to READY and creep forward a few feet in All Electric mode. Yes, it takes fuel to keep the battery charged at some point, but the gasoline engine did not start up in this case, as it wasn't needed. Therefore, zero fuel consumption and that short a distance...
So I've now had my XL hybrid for six weeks. No, I haven't put 5,000 miles on it. More like a bit under 500. Overall, seems to be averaging about 44 miles per gallon in mixed use of rural (paved) roads and city driving (with construction zones and all that, it's summer.) No complaints from me...
Not hard and fast, apparently. My XL started and completed build on 5/11 but does have the knob with temperature setting on it. Only one, because no dual climate control in the XL so the other is just a plain knob.
This does seem awfully knit picky to me. Even a Lariat is incredibly inexpensive...
