Long McArthur did get 118 allocations for November so it will be a busy month.
I was told earlier this week, via phone call I initiated with Ford, that my order shows an update on Oct 30. Specifically, my new production date is now week of Nov 15....actual production date Nov 19. Neither me nor my dealer have received emails regarding this update. Do you have any knowledge as to why updated emails aren't being sent out by FORD? THX

Only way you wouldn't get an email sent to you would be if the dealer did not put your information with email address into the order.

Ha ha ha I was assured that my build was for November 9th, I also remember my recruiter telling me that my chances of being sent to Vietnam were negligible too. Hmmm, notice my pic on the left;) at this point what’s another week or two, or three or……;) it’s like dealing with the VA. Disability System, defer then delay. I’m starting to get used to this and that’s scary;) ;) ;)
No scheduling isn't in reference to already scheduled builds, it means no notices next week of builds to be scheduled which would have been for circa January.

I think I was one of the lucky ones to get scheduled last week. Thank goodness, I ordered 7-2-21. Hybrid XLT with the Lux Package and 360. Good things do come to those that wait patiently.
Same build for me, ordered a solid two weeks before you. No scheduled build date for me...

Here’s my only problem with this entire process. Ford starts a new program where consumers can order a product instead of the dealer stocking it yet they revert to their old “allocation“ system. The consumers that ordered first should get the priority and the hell with “allocating” by size of dealer. The “new” idea for going directly to the consumer is a big dud. They should be throwing out their old system and do FIFO or just go back to the old system and just build stock orders.
Interesting observation on the allocation system. I guess it's there to reward their highest volume dealers. Those dealers presumably invest more in advertising and do a better job at closing sales. The allocation system is there to incentivize them for making those investments.

But in this particular situation, did any one of us here place an order because of the actions of their dealer? Did they see promotions? Did they get demos? Were they persuaded by a good salesperson to place an order?

Uh....no. We all read about the Maverick in the automotive press and pursued our dealers to place an order. Many of us would have order direct if state laws and the system allowed. So the point is valid, that the dealer allocation system isn't relevant to these sales or to Maverick at this time.

Wow thank you for pointing that out, this for my Wife, it’s a present (that she knows about) and I wanted to get it in before a major snowstorm, so that she knows how it handles In her everyday driving.

Tim, I'm curious, has anyone heard anymore production news from the Hybrid eCVT factory? They were producing in fairly low numbers back in August, curious if they have ramped up and are just warehousing the hybrid transmissions, or shipping them to Mexico in sizable numbers?

I'm not sure, I have a feeling that they are producing them in bigger numbers just based off the amount of allocations we received this month.

Well, I was bad mouth about late Hybrid Fall deliveries before. I ordered a FE hybrid in late June so I will be lucky for Winter delivery now.

I replied before about the allocation system.

But I think it's worth noting that the order system isn't a new process for Ford either. AFAIK, this retail order process is the same as it's been for eons. You've always been able to order a specific build.

So they're using an order/allocation system that was developed years ago. Many have stated on this forum that Ford is trying to move to a build to retail order model to reduce dealer power and improve Ford margins. I haven't seen that backed up by any media reference, but it's not an unreasonable assumption.

Perhaps that is their intent and the large number of retail orders was their intent. In that case they can be faulted for not adapting their processes to support the new model.

But it's also possible that the runaway success of the Mav got ahead of them; that they didn't intend to make this a build to (retail) order business. I don't know what their corporate strategy is and they aren't likely to be completely candid about it if it's going to shake up the current manufacturer/dealer power dynamic.
