Background info... 9-15-22 I ordered My Alto Blue Lariat Hybrid Maverick with almost all the bells and whistles including the BO sound and Blackout kit without ever test driving one or even sitting in a Maverick. 345 nights of dreaming about it, then the email arrived they were building my truck! 20 more days of dreaming and waiting, it finally shipped!
Then the nightmares started, what if I don't like it? Will the union strike hold up my delivery? Will it fall off the delivery truck? 14 days of checking the shipping status and it arrived at the dealership! after 379 days of waiting It was actually here! I went to see it that night even though it wasn't ready to pickup yet, the dealer prep stuff & paperwork was keeping me from taking it home that night but it was beautiful and I got to sit in it and I said to myself, "Self this feels better than it did in your dreams"
16 agonizing hours later it was ready to go and I was at the dealership looking at my baby again! Then they held me up some more with stupid paperwork and the pitch for extended warranty stuff... I thought this is not the time to be talking to me about this shit just let me RIDE!
1 week and 600 miles later (on only 16.2 gallons of gas which is less than 1 tank of gas in my highlander that only got me 320 miles) I thought I would share my review.
I LOVE this truck, it feels more comfortable and drives nicer than any vehicle i've owned before plus gets excellent MPGs! Great radio, Heated seats and steering wheel what more can I ask for?
Well, for almost $1000 more I have Tailgate letter inserts and lift assist, Toptiny 3 fold hard Tonneau cover, Tuxmat floormats, Trays for the dash and center console, plus door sill protectors and more toys coming soon!
Ford Maverick My Maverick, The first week! Truck

Now a few things I don't understand... Why do I need 4 ways to lock and unlock my truck but the keyfob has no remote start on the Lariat? only with the APP? No auto dimming mirror with Homelink? Why are the wiper controls upside down? 2-3 ways to let me know I don't have my seatbelt on yet? Then another to tell me I have it buckled then a click "OK" or wait 15 seconds? How can I tell the charge level of the Hybrid battery? Do I need to know the charge level? WTH?

Congrats! That is a nice looking Maverick.

The remote start from the keyfob option was included in the Lariat Luxury package for MY2022, but for MY2023 it was taken out and offered as a standalone option. If you wanted that option then you had to add it to your build for $170.

I agree with you on the other things. For paying close to $40k out the door for a fully loaded Lariat I think that it should come with an auto dimming rear view mirror with garage door opener and power folding side mirrors as standard.

The seat belt notification that comes up on the display cluster seems like it will be very annoying.
I think it does the same thing if a passenger takes their seat belt off while the engine is still running.

The app on your phone works consistently for remote start. Don’t think you’ll miss the remote start key fob. The whole idea with the push button start is you never need to pull your keys out of your pocket.

There is no actual gauge giving you hybrid battery life percentage but I don’t think that is a feature in any hybrid. I could be wrong. I have a Corolla Cross Hybrid and it has no such gauge. Use the brake coach screen and you will be fine.

love the BAP with Alto Blue, great choice !

I agree! I LOVE this truck! I’m at 556 miles and still have 1/4 of a tank left!

Although I have to confess… I kinda like the upside down windshield wiper stalk.

I did find a three click seatbelt trick that disables the chime and some of the notifications in one of these forums which makes it a little less annoying. As for the remote start I think I have to live with the fact that I have to pull out my phone, open the Ford App, press and hold "Start" without accidentally sliding my finger on the screen, then wait 15-20 seconds for it to start  After all it is so much more convenient than just grabbing the remote & holding a button.

If you have an Apple watch connected to an iPhone you can just touch the app on the watch and start your truck, its faster than using the phone to start .

I've had mine nearly two weeks now. the main thing I'd say is that my XL hybrid seems like an incredible value. I also have a rav4 prime and at nearly 2x the price I don't know that I like it 2x as much. it's no doubt a way nicer vehicle but it's also way more expensive. I really enjoy my mav for some reason even though it's slower and not as decked out with features. just a great little truck.

The Ford CMax, at least the one I drive for work, has an always-on battery charge level indicator, in the shape of a battery (like a AA battery, interestingly), shows the charge level and animates when you are braking to show the charge level increasing due to Regen. I really miss that feature in the Mav, cannot understand why it's not there.

I hope you're not holding your finger on the phone push to start button until it says vehicle started. You only need to hold it until the cursor start going around then you can shut your phone off and put it in your pocket.

This won’t help you.

about remote start. I figure that someday Ford will change to a subscription model on the app or connectivity will get limited by wireless technology like the 3G phase out.

Thus i added remote start to my order.

As others have pointed out m, the ford pass app will work fine. (For now)

I've used FORScan to disable the seat belt chime and other annoyances on my Mach E. I plan to do some FORScan mods on my Lariat (pick it up Tuesday).
