It's a TRUCK not a Sports Car.

For me pedal-to-the-metal in my Hybrid leaves others in the dust. 0-60 in 7.7 seconds is fast enough for me.

From Car and Driver May Issue:

........................ Mav ---- Civic
weight........... 3720 --- 2906
engine............ 2.5+elect ---- 2.0
HP ................. 191 ---- 158
0-30 mph sec... 2.9 ---- 3.5
0-60 sec ........... 7.7 ---- 8.8
1/4-mile sec ... 15.9 ---- 16.9
top speed....... 110 limtd --- 125 est

I use it infrequently as I don't park on hills very much but I've had no issues at all with the Parking Brake.

I love the dial shifter. Again this is a TRUCK not a Sports Car.
In all my previous vehicles I put it in Drive and go. Not hard to do at all.

Why don't you apply the software fix that has been out since March 1st.

Radio firmware update!

Why would you want the fan to come on at high speed and blow Very HOT air on you when first turned on?

With the AC on MAX it first turns on the compressor with the fan at low volume until the ducts are cooled down then ramps up the fan to max air flow. This way you are not blasted with very HOT air when first turned on.

By the way my 1978 Buick Electra with it's fancy automatic climate control for AC did this exact same thing: low air flow until all the ducts were cooled then ramps up the fan speed.
Slow to get going is nothing to do with engine performance. It’s all the systems that are too slow. And nothings cooling as far as AC until air moves. Plus the air in vents is basically the same temp as air in cab. My Ford work van fan turns on to last speed immediately.

So sell the Maverick and buy a Sports Car since you seem to be expecting Sports Car performance.

Air is moving slowly for about 5 seconds before it blasts at full speed. Are you really that impatient.

No they are hotter than the cabin.

The fact the Maverick delays the AC for a moment is actually a luxury car like touch. This is the way that all of our luxury cars have behaved.

Also, the electronic brake is noisy. It's noisy on every car. You're not going to hurt it by just pressing the pedal and letting it auto release. Obviously some of you have never had this system before. I tap the accelerator pedal and it automatically releases. It's second nature now.

Should it behave more like Toyota? Maybe. But the parking brake isn't necessary 100% of the time so Ford's way of doing it will save wear/tear on the mechanism.

Where did I say performance is poor?

I guess so!

No they are hotter than the cabin.

By how much?

the parking break is hardly intuitive. Used it in my driveway and then took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to disengage. Now I know but there was a moment of panic there…

I mean, it works the same as a lever. Pull to engage, push to disengage. The benefit is that it will disengage automatically.

I mean I figured it out, just wasn’t obvious that you pushed to disengage. I had no idea it had an automatic feature but I haven’t read through the owners manual yet. I still haven’t figured out how to switch the co-pilot on or what the random wire in a bag in the cab is for either, my ownership experience is still that new.

I don't know if this applies to your situation. But on the vents, I thought they were directional with the left/right movement. But moving it right/left seems to open and close off the vent. It is a one-day-at-a-time, getting to know the truck.
Took me 4 months to figure this out. Not a “fan” of these vents since you can’t direct air flow where needed. It’s either straight out or closed.

That wire is a pigtail connector which fastens into the 12 volt connector in the bed in order to draw power for whatever you may choose to connect it to.

I figured that is what it was for, but thought it was a little odd since I already have the inverter back there to throw that in. Thanks for confirming!

The radio thing bugs me a bit but I think I’ve figured it out.

Driving, jamming tunes, you stop, turn off the Mav then turn off radio. When you get back in the radio will turn on with ignition. #dislike

But if you you turn off the radio before turning off the truck then all is quiet when you start it back up.

It’s the little things.

#StillLoveThisTruck
Aren’t you supposed to turn everything off before you turn off the truck?
Diane . . not JoeEd asking. Thanks.

When I'm parked on my driveway it's at an incline, so I don't push the accelerator to creep down it to leave whether I'm uphill or downhill oriented. So when I have parking brake on and I forget to release it, it quite literally pulls the entire front end upward when I'm facing downhill and makes a nice sludge metal note 🤘 So I manually release the parking brake to avoid that. I didn't even know it had an auto release function if you press the accelerator. I guess my point is it doesn't work for the way I normally park.

Gave the parking brake a try. It does disengage as said by just committing to driving away. I like it.

Will the PB disengage automatically if trying to reverse ?
